Does Klonopin make the Mind weaker?

Well, benzos do affect your memory and cognitive abilities.

Last day of use: July 8 (it's Sept 23)

I have a Dr appt in 2 hours .. I was going to get a small amount of Klonopin PRN. I have court next week. As a result of meditation & intensive CBT, I have been feeling (VERY) exacerbated symptoms.

I think I'm gonna cancel, though.... I have 2 months without it... I want to put in the MOST effort. Klonopin would squelch progress, right?

I need to get better.

Thanks. I need to "restore" my cognitive abilities.

I am trying to get back custody of my daughter. Klonopin abuse was one big reason I fucked up.

It's been 10 years this season since I first started using drugs.

Instead I should go to an AA meeting, get my paper signed & turn it in to my case worker today.

I get to choose which evidence is presented in court:
I choose the letter showing that I DIDN'T get mind-altering substances.

That's fantastic. If you can do without benzos you really ought to. They definitely do make the mind 'weaker' by (mainly) killing memory. That is the main reason I stopped taking them, because they made me essentially intellectually impotent. And you'll make a better impression in court if you're clean. Even if you're super anxious you'll have more presence of mind.

Thanks for the response.

I cancelled my appointment yesterday. As a result I don't have any new problems today. Klonopin makes problems IME, doesn't fix 'em. Addict mind was trying to trick me.

I'm curious as to why you had to cancel a doctor's appointment to avoid klonopin? Why not tell the dr you don't want it because of a past history of abuse? A good doctor isn't going to ram benzos down your throat when you tell them why you don't/can't take them.

Good job on staying benzo free, I abused them for 10 years and they caused some serious problems for me.
