Does it matter if Bupe is already in my system on first visit to Sub doc?

I am going to see a Sub Doc in a few days. I have some old Subutex from when I was prescribed them a year or so ago by another doc. Since I already have some I figured I would go ahead and start taking it now knowing I will start the Suboxone program in a few days anyways. I wasnt even thinking that they might drug test me on my first visit to the Suboxone doc. Will it be an issue if they see that I already have Buprenorphine in my system? I can easily show them where I was prescribed them before if they need me to.

Do they usually drug test you on your first visit to Sub docs? They never did before at the other docs but I always figured most would. Just to see what kind of drugs you really take. As opposed to taking your word for it. I am going to a Sub doc because of a Oxy problem. By the time I see the Sub doc I will have been off Oxy for a few days. What are the chances that Oxy doesnt show on my first drug test, and just Bupe shows? Oxy should still be in my system but what if it doesnt show on the drug test? I have had drug test before when Oxy didnt show in my system one day after I did it.

I just figure it would seem odd if I was going to them because of an Oxy problem and Oxy wasnt in my system. Could there be an issue of only bupe, or bupe anb oxy show on the test? I know for a fact the Bupe will show up.

I was always under the impression you had to piss dirty to be placed on an ORT program.

I guess I could just take some Oxy the day before I go to be sure its in my system for the possible drug test. Since im on Bupe already I dont think the Oxy will have any effect on me but it should atleast show on a drug test.

What about the Bupe being in my system? Is that not an issue?

It depends on the doctor of course, but I think it should be fine. Just tell them the truth, that you have an oxy problem but you had some old Subs and started taking them knowing you'd be going back on subs in a few days. You just have to be dependent on opioids to get Subs, using Sub itself should qualify. I've never heard of them denying treatment to someone because they were already taking Sub.
