I read this bbc news article about a study that claimed HGH did nothing to improve athletic performance. Why do people take it, and why is it a banned substance in some sports?

can you post the article ?

As for your question the answer is simply no. People take it because it duplicates cells and offers multiple health benefits.

it is banned because the government makes more money, particularly specific law enforcement agencies.

Go eat trans fat, die of heart attack, you have a funeral everyone says you were jolly.

Juice, die (from who knows what) and everyone says "if only he had never used steroids"

fucking morons, don't listen to em.

It does not do much by itself if you are young. If you are in your late 30's 40's, etc it is very beneficial. When a person combines HGH with some Testosterone and maybe a bit of anavar or Eq, that is where the magic is, there is a very synergistic effect between Test and HGH

Agreed with Sandow. HGH by itself, while you're young, with no AAS is a total waste of money. HGH is very expensive. By itself it won't do much for athletic ability. I wouldn't say i wouldn't improve your ability. I think it would just a teeny tiny bit. You would see very minimal muscle growth and experience very minimal fat loss. But with HGH and AAS, the answer is a resounding yes given the synergistic effects the two have while taken together. If you want to improve athletic performance start out using Test by itself for 12 weeks @ 500 mgs

unless high doses are taken it wont cause much hypertrophy. It has the possibility for long term maturation of new satelite cells (new muscle fibers) which can change your genetic potential. It also has a synergistic effect with AAS (good and bad).

it also makes your fingers swell the fuck up even on 2IU of the good stuff

HGH works best with AAS, IGF, and insulin. Does it work? Yes, VERY well for a variety of things, if used right.

recovery periods diminish on AAS/GH combination. I can hit a muscle group (shoulders) 3x/week with progressive overload on this combo which I could never dream of doing before.

GH/Test/Tren

it dont get no finer

That's funny, I'm a cat 3 cyclist and there are like 20 vials in my fridge right now and I have no desire to try them.
I usually hang out in Other Drugs, but I saw this thread title on the front page and I just thought it was ironic.

Bullshit, many of you. HGH works in everyone. Why do you think it is given to CHILDREN to SPUR GROWTH?

Regarding muscle growth and recovery: the more you train, the more effect you will see.

That said, HGH isn't the greatest drug. It works best when used intravenously because this mimics the bodies natural release mechanism and helps prevent drug accumulation in the limbs that can lead to excessive and undesirable growth (e.g. fat fingers).

A better option, if you don't want to IV your GH, is to use a GH secreteagogue like a growth hormone releasing hormone analog which will stimulate your own body to produce much greater amounts of GH than it normally does, but because it is through the natural release mechanism -- directly into the bloodstream, it does not have the same risks for crappy side effects. And you can inject it under the skin, no IV necessary. Plus it is a lot cheaper.

I have used quite a bit of CJC-1293 (the best GHRH analog that is easily available). The GH released does an excellent job of burning fat, aiding recovery/repair of tissue in general (muscle, skin, joints, bones) and promotes better sleep.

It also helps strength gains.
