Does FLEA/MDHMA degrade into MDMA?

So I know that MDOH degrades into MDA, I know that HOT-7 and HOT-2 both share this quality and they are altered in the same way as MDOH is. I have not seen any specific information regarding this and the Pihkal entry for FLEA doesn't discuss degredation.

So can someone clear this up for me?

... and to clarify, the concern here is environmental reduction of the hydroxyl group, not enzymatic reduction.

So what conclusions can be drawn JB? There was an initial 1.2% contamination, then five years later FLEA is the smaller constituent. So it does indeed degrade?

After 5 years the stuff gava a strong reaction with marquis, but it doesn't mention testing the fresh compound - I'd guess FLEA would also react with marquis, though that's just a guess.

Also the thread keeps talking about oxidation of FLEA to MDMA, it's actually a reduction, and I don't see it happening spontaneously in air.

Anyone a DF member to get some clarification?
