Does Diphendyramine Affect Opiods?

Like the title says, I often hear of people taking both at the same time for some reason. Also hearing stuff about these same people saying it "Potentite".
So I would greatly appreciate any answer to my question,

Thank you in advance,
ExecuteRealDemocracy

Also Note: I'm not sure where I can put into this thread on the forums, so please excuse me if I make a mistake with a rule or whatnot.

No, Diphendyramine does not potentiate opiates. It does not affect them in any way, and the reason why people use them together is that the Diphendyramine may make the user feel more tired, hence with an opiate they may nod out more. The word you are looking for is "synergy".

Yes, diphenhydramine absolutely does potentiate opioids. In addition to the synergistic effects of the two (the sedation of the DPH causes the effects of heroin to feel stronger), DPH also inhibits cytochrome enzymes in the liver that metabolise opioids. Therefore, in combination with DPH, the user can use less heroin and it will feel stronger for longer. For reference, this thread is about opioids, so it belongs in the "Other Drugs" forum.

Uh, not sure if that helps with two entirely contradictory answers.
Thanks though for responding.

Anyone else care to answer and help out?

OK, I'll make this easy- I actually know what I'm talking about. Trust me, diphenhydramine really, really does potentiate opioids. So well that it's contraindicated for use in people who are taking opioids, and is in fact a popular cut in heroin in many places. I respect your request for a second (third? additional.) opinion, and am sitting smugly back, ready to be vindicated.

I would trust Babylon, for no reason more than he's the only one to spell diphenhydramine properly...
