Didn't you just answer your own question there?

Cannabis works as a painiller and anti-inflammatory drug and will help out with your arthritis for sure. These so-called "legal blends" are not really legal (or just herbs) - they contain chemicals that mimic the effects of marijuana, but are more susceptible to misuse, addiction, over dosage etc.

Hey thcjonah, welcome to Bluelight!

Many of the synth cannabinoids are indeed effective painkillers, but its hard to know what cannabinoids are in which legal blend without doing a GC/MS analysis on it. Of course, you could always try different ones and find out which ones work best for you.

Is there any particular reason why you stopped smoking regular cannabis? I've found (through my personal experience at least) that the natural stuff functions better as a painkiller, probably due to the variation in different cannabinoids found in natural cannabis.

I also recommend introducing yourself over at New Member Introductions since you're new to Bluelight, hope to see you around!

Tillianne i have the same arthritis Wat other pain killer can help cause weed is expensive have you tried legal high

^ aspirin, ibuprofen and diclofenac are all available OTC in places such as the UK and will help deal with the root cause, the inflamation. They're not a cure but may help with the pain as well. Just make sure you take it regularly at the recommended dosages, consistently as just a couple of doses might not help that well.

Cannabis does have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties and so might be of use to you. I know many people that get relief using cannabis to treat arthritis, however you must be aware of the fact that some strains are better than others. Killersrkunk supplied by Underground Originals is a good strain for arthritis for example.

I would not use legal cannabinoid highs to treat any medical condition personally.

As for other legal alternatives, cherries (the fruit) have fairly potent anti-inflammatory properties and might help, as will chondroitin and glucosamine sulphate, which are available in all good health stores, as these are very useful for joint problems in general. They're quite cheap as well, so won't break the bank.

Hypnosis can be helpful, as well as massage and a healthy diet (don't underestimate the effect a healthy diet can have on your health).

Thanks. This just about covers what I would have said. :)

First off, good job on an awesome thread title :) That makes it easy for others with the same question to search for it in the future. I don't know how well the legal blends will work for you, I find them to be utter shit and very ineffective, although many other posters will disagree with me there. Along with a ton of other things, I have arthritis in my lower back, and I have other friends suffering from various forms of arthritis, and I've found pot more helpful than any of the prescription drugs thrown at me.

For inflammation, I DEFINITELY recommend ibuprofen, but not in the doses recommended on the name brand Advil/Motrin bottle. Try 800mg twice a day or so, I've found it works well. There are other prescription-only NSAIDs out there that you can speak to your doctor about, which might be more effective for your condition too.

Be very careful using higher doses of ibuprofen or other NSAIDs. They can cause gastric ulceration, which if left unchecked, can cause bleeding and infections or death.

It's best to consult a doctor if you start feeling ill while taking lots of any NSAID or dosing it for a long time period.

Definitely. I have to be careful as I have stomach issues. Technically, I'm not supposed to even take NSAIDS, but I'll take Aleve on occasion.

Would not turn to synthetics for pain relief, properties are a bit different... pain management is less viable with most synthetics due to the short high, requiring a lot of smoking. Oral dosages would be more viable, but you are talking about pre-made blends, which you know nothing about.

I do not suggest you use a pre-packed blend - they are unsafe and you do not know what is in it. Even when you know what RC you are ingesting, it still is unsafe. Consult your doctor for pain management, or if you are in a state with MMJ you may qualify.

For now, I think you have your answer and this will only go off topic. Yes, cannabis does help COPING with arthritis, however it does not help heal or prevent worse conditions.
