Bupe Does anyone have problems with Suboxone (side effects)?

that is just how I felt when I was tapering down and withdrawing off the subs. I would be freezing all the time (and in Florida in the summer, its hot outside but everywhere inside is air conditioned like crazy) especially when I would just wake up. I would sweat a LOT at night in my sleep and wake up to soaked bedsheets (which would make me feel even colder). And I would wake up too early, at like 4:00 AM, no matter how tired I was the night before.

Usually taking a very hot shower helped me with the coldness thing; at the end of my morning shower I would turn up the water temperature so that it was almost scalding me, and stand there for a few minutes. It helped me feel warmer and much better when I got out of the shower. Also, if you sit around all day and do nothing, it will probably be harder for you to fall asleep and stay asleep, so try to get out and at least do something, even if its just walking around the mall.

Hot showers work great. Nausea is an issue I've noticed, and it does seem more pronounced when I snort my buprenorphine for whatever reason (maybe snorting's higher BA?).

I've found that taking an antihistamine such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl), dimenhydrinate (Dramamine), promethazine (Phenergan) and the various others anti-emetic antihistamines help with nausea and more or less knock it down 100% (for me at least, promethazine is the most effective).

This is probably not very easily found, but the 5-HT3 antagonist ondansetron (Zofran) works miracles for bupe/opioid-induced nausea.

My last dose of Sub was .5 mg on Wednesday morning. So it's technically been almost a week, and I actually almost feel better than I did when I was on Suboxone. I was even able to go out Friday night. I'm confused. Other than a little bit of lethargy and some random chills and cold sweats... and maybe a small increase in anxiety (although I just recently had a lot of shit happen in my life- my car was stolen, etc.- so that could be the reason as opposed to withdrawals)... other than all that, I have no symptoms. Or, well I sneeze sometimes. But I don't have any trouble sleeping, I have no RLS to speak of... it's nothing like what I've heard Sub withdrawals are like.

It's been 6 days, should I be feeling more symptoms by now? I don't know if the worst is yet to come and it's just going to hit me out of nowhere, I don't want to be overconfident. I really haven't even been taking anything other than xanax and 5-HTP and a Vicodin or two here and there. Is it the Vicodin or what? I don't think it is, because even when it wears off and it's half life is over, I feel the same as I always have since I jumped off the Subs.

Can someone tell me what's going on here? Like, why are my withdrawals not horribly unbearable right now? I'm not complaining or anything, I'm just worried that it's going to hit me out of no where, and if that's the case... if there's anything I can do to prevent it. Idk it just seems really weird.

^It sounds like you're experiencing the majority of it now (sneezing, chills, etc)... Vicodin is definitely helping you on those occasions where you take it (there will still be some kicking around for a few half-life cycles), but if you're leaving adequate time between doses maybe you'll be just fine. Xanax also certainly can help, be careful not to overuse it though.

I think if you are able to go a few days without Vicodin from here, you'll have a perfect understanding of where you are in your withdrawal.

if you have terrible side effects, lower your dose. if you snort or shoot your suboxone, especially high doses, you're going to wake up feeling like garbage... like a weed wacker is tearing apart your chest and gut once you wake up.

for years ive been experienced with suboxone, and i don't take more than 4mg a day. it is usually in the 0.5 to 1.5mg range per day, SUBLINGUAL.

my sub doc prescribed 16mg a day for myself. after 4mg it seems the drug(s) build up in your system, don't get you ANY higher, but makes the withdrawal much worse.

those of you with these awful side effects, taper down, and you can do it fast! i recommend swapping the sub for a full agonist for a few days, or a handfull of xanax.

wake up in the morning, put 1mg under the tongue like you're supposed to, and pop a xanax or two instead. this method easily got me from ~8mg per day to 0.25mg per day, and it took only half a week.

now i feel normal in the morning, i can get up and shower and eat breakfast, and not even realize i havnt dosed my suboxone yet.

i have even used adderall before to replace the suboxone for a day or two.

that's all you (well i) need, a couple days of little to no suboxone, replaced with something else, and bam youre down from 4 or 8 or 16 or whatever ungodly dose youre at to 0.5 or 1mg.

SAVE MONEY, FEEL BETTER, LESS *IS* MORE.

Yeah I think I'm going to not take the vicodin anymore... if that's really the reason my withdrawals are practically a joke, then I'm going to save the rest for a day when I have something to do and absolutely need to not feel like shit.
