Does anyone else work dead end jobs

I can build a house catch a fish and make my own clothes, For what then do I work 8 hours a day for in an office?

work to live but live to fight the man that makes you work....

id love to have a dead end job, any kind of job...ive been out of work for 3 years now, and the longer im unemployed, the worse it looks on my resume...its starting to make me look towards criminal activity just to get money, and ive never been that type but know the ins and outs of it, just never thought i would be in such a drastic point in my life where i cant get a fuckin fast food job, smh....its def not helping my mental status, especially if its got me thinking of doing robberies

One excuse to use in a case where you haven't had a job for a long period of time is to mention that you were looking after an ill/incapacitated relative. Know a few people who've used it and it was actually recommended at the unemployment office here. It usually works. Employers actually expect women to have gaps in there employment history, childcare, etc. :\

yes in this society having a job is better then not. But in an ideal society, if you need something... you go get it. If you really just can't get what you need for yourself. fail. everyone should have an equal opportunity at resources. I guarantee you there's someone doing a job you (toomuchpain)are more qualified at yet there they sit doing just enough to not get fired while You dream of working your ass off at that job. c'est la vie. I blame the breeders of yesterday.. Love is great but less kids would have been better... we could all sit around being lazy all day After we secured the essentials.. which aren't hard unless there's billions of people competing with you...

Last thing and I"ll quit ranting...
The banks have us all convinced this green paper is worth something... and that working 8 hours a day is equivalent to providing for yourself.. it is false.
You work to feed, clothe and house the rich, the politicians and everyone that just shuffles paper for a living (I'm sorta one of those dudes...) If you're mildly good they reward you with a little extra of their paper.

IF only I could give up my computer I'd be mountain man... Sorry I smoked too much before this post.

A dead end job is better than no job. I've never had a proper job.

How much do you get on your benefit?

I get up at 5am five days a week (uncluding weekends :|) and make NZ$520 a week.

I have friends on benefits and some get up to NZ$400 and it pisses me off that i'm work my nutsack off for lousy extra 100 bucks!

BUT ... When you don't have a job life dopes get boring as fuck (for me anyway) .... but I don't have a car/drive so it may be different?

I get around $250 a week on the invalid's benefit, including the accomodation supplement.

Once I pay for rent, bills, and gas for my car, there ain't much left over.

Yeah, I can imagine there wouldn't be much left over .... I imagined it would be more than $250 tbo.

My brothers on the dole and living at home ... he get's $180 .... but yeah you can't save money for a holiday or anything with $250 it's JUST enough to live off and nothing more.

Although we are lucky in NZ that addiction is classed as a disibility ... very lucky.

Yep. At the end of the week I'm left with a few dollars in my account and that's it.

One reason I wanna quit smoking - to save some cash!

I work in retail and make shit pay, just barely a dollar over minimum wage. The people are cool, even some of the managers are cool but I could never see myself "advancing" there. I'd like to maybe try a trade of some sort, like an electrician or maybe even a plumber. I would be happy with a factory type job in the 12$ per hour range so I could at least save some money up

I definitely don't have it in me to do anything that requires 4 years of schooling, 2 years is my max but there still are a lot of jobs that would only require 2 years of learning :)

What do you get an Hour out of curiousity?

That would be sweet ... but without all the many brilliant minds and lust for competition our advancement would be like nothing we have today.

You would have no internet, flights, busy cities ... people to play online with etc.

Would it be worth the trade-off?

look into Low Voltage electrics, or marine. low voltage you make bank, mostly because its very tedious, running wires in odd places, keeping it as short as possible. i was getting $22 an hour for a while p/t... you can make a lot more, that was a favor... a big one.

marine, or boat electric work you also get paid extra, and after the schooling you are well prepared for building, boat, or any vehicle electrical work. those jobs always have large waiting lists, that can be bad, but once youre in stay where you are! and you will be getting $35-45 per hour.

i allllmost got my marine electrical accreditation, i forget the exact term for in the states but i ditched out at the last minute... ballasts, and some battery-cell and boat electrical equipment schematics got confusing, but the basics are easy once you become accustomed.
