A dead end job is better than no job. I've never had a proper job.
How much do you get on your benefit?
I get up at 5am five days a week (uncluding weekends) and make NZ$520 a week.
I have friends on benefits and some get up to NZ$400 and it pisses me off that i'm work my nutsack off for lousy extra 100 bucks!
BUT ... When you don't have a job life dopes get boring as fuck (for me anyway) .... but I don't have a car/drive so it may be different?
I get around $250 a week on the invalid's benefit, including the accomodation supplement.
Once I pay for rent, bills, and gas for my car, there ain't much left over.
Yeah, I can imagine there wouldn't be much left over .... I imagined it would be more than $250.
My brothers on the dole and living at home ... he get's $180 .... but yeah you can't save money for a holiday or anything with $250 it's JUST enough to live off and nothing more.
Although we are lucky in NZ the addiction is classed as a dissibility ... very lucky.
I work in retail and make shit pay, just barely a dollar over minimum wage. The people are cool, even some of the managers are cool but I could never see myself "advancing" there. I'd like to maybe try a trade of some sort, like an electrician or maybe even a plumber. I would be happy with a factory type job in the 12$ per hour range so I could at least save some money up
I definitely don't have it in me to do anything that requires 4 years of schooling, 2 years is my max but there still are a lot of jobs that would only require 2 years of learning![]()
Love is great but less kids would have been better... we could all sit around being lazy all day After we secured the essentials.. which aren't hard unless there's billions of people competing with you...
