Does anyone agree that the value of pot far exceeds all other psychedelics combined?

At the end and at the most psycadellic of my pot use, it did everything except make me content.
It made me disgusted with myself my life and the way I'd lived it and had a direct effect on me quitting pot and quitting drinking to excess and/or often and blaming my mental illness for my failures. Made me more honest with people in my life, and a better worker too.
When it was all fun and games for the ten years before it was the exact opposite of that.
Pot can be so many things.

Well I disagree...I think that is more personality related...a lot of lazy content people smoke marijuana. But I will agree that being content does not tend to led to self improvement and striding for something better.

What exactly are you disagreeing with...? Are you saying that a majority of content (in my view, a negative) stoners are just already lazy and content, and it's not the doing of weed? And thus, disagree?

Sorry that was confusing. I think the stereotype of the lazy stoner is nothing more than a stereotype. Oh sure, there are plenty of lazy stoners and you can find people all day long to fit that stereotype. But in my own experience, I can tell you that there are plenty of people (some that have a PHD behind their name) that I am close with that you would probably call a 'stoner' based on their near daily consumption of cannabis...and they are anything but lazy, a few I am referencing are people I look up to myself.

I think it just comes down to the fact that a lot of people of all walks of life enjoy smoking pot...the stereotypical lazy stoner is probably the most obvious because...well they are obvious. Someone like me who does not dress, talk, or look like your Cheech and Chong smoker (I'm pretty damn 'straight' and 'conservative' looking in my appearance)...well let's just put it this way...you would never in a million years guess that I enjoy pot as much as I do, that I've grown it for most of my adult life, that I am an avid psychedelic user and advocate, and former junkie.

So yes...the majority of stoners you view as lazy and content would probably be that way without smoking pot. Pot, and really all drug use, is seemingly the most convenient excuse for people to blame all their problems on....and for people to blame the problems of others on.

I always thought the stoner-scene was just made up by hollywood so they can have an easy laugh in their comedies... Seriously, who subscribes to High Times?

Either way, I'm a daily toker for insomnia reasons and those 20-minutes in bed where I'm just straight up tripping have given me insights on par with LSD and 4-Aco-DMT. They are more down-to-earth than psychedelics though. If I hadn't forgotten all of them (when I'm laying in bed wishing to sleep I don't keep notes) I would now have all the answers to our societal problems (like actual economics, not dismissing capitalism entirely but building on it), I would have written some great novels and be ridden of all my psychological problems. That's exaggerating obviously, but it gives some insight as to what realizations you can actually have. It doesn't go as deep or far-out as psychedelics, nor do you look at 70 angles at the same time, but the mindset does change the way you think about a certain problem and enhances creativity

P.s Great flame-bait, this thread is

If you have no tolerance you can have fairly profound 'psychedelic' experiences from smoking cannabis...in addition cannabis tolerance goe away pretty quickly, after as little time as a month your tolerance can go down dramatically- take a 6-18 month break and you'll almost be a pot virgin again.

I prefer cannabis to psychedelics, but even so I think traditional psychedelics are far more powerful. It's all more or less the same- cannabis is far more psychedelic than people give it credit for, but you can't really beat LSD for sheer potency (both in effect and by weight). I would actually rank dissociatives above both cannabis and traditional psychedelics, but that's neither here nor there.

I find the flaming to be fairly mindless, if pretty entertaining. Lighten the fuck up- if your experiences are that fucking profound you should be able to deal with people *GASP!* not agreeing with your opinion. BASTARDS! And some of them are a bit rude- think of it! People being rude on the internet! Christ, this is bluelight- we have standards to maintain!

It's also to compare this to the 'psychedelic delusion' thread. A lot of you guys have an excellent way of confirming peoples worst assumptions in your attempts to disprove them.
