Does alcohol help with sublingual drug absorption

I remember reading that alcohol does something with the mucous membranes and allows faster sublingual absorption. I think it might have had something to do with an LSA extraction, that it is absorbed very fast when taken sublingually with alcohol. Is this true? If it is, could rinsing the mouth with mouthwash or a shot of vodka before taking the substance (or maybe with the substance) allow better sublingual absorption for LSA, or even LSD, mushrooms, etc?

I have not been able to find any info on this. But alcohol does cause blood vessels to dilate, increasing blood flow at the surface, so it's possible it might speed sublingual absorption. Not sure if just a tiny bit of alcohol in the mouth makes much of a difference or not though. People often make extractions using alcohol for certain drugs/plants because alcohol is a good preservative or because certain drugs/compunds are more soluble in alcohol, I haven't heard of it being done specifically to aid sublingual absorption.

Bupenorphine is one of the only things i've done that i know helps absorption for sub use. I am sure there are more. But as far as that goes, this is all i got.

Well, interesting you say this as just last week I was listening to a (pharma) lecture re alcohol dependence and associated pharmacotherapies and apparently it is possible to ingest a sufficient amount of alcohol when using an alcoholic mouth-wash to induce emesis/nausea (and the other associated effects) when the patient is taking Antabuse (disulfiram)! Basically surprising me with how quick and the degree of effect for just a mouth-wash!

I'm sure a lot of this would depend on solubility of the substance in ethanol.
