What the title says. When you drink the feeling you have is it considered dissociation.

Alcohol can definately make me feel dissociated but alcohol isn't a dissociative if that's what your asking, it's a depressant.

I think that it also effects the nmda receptors if i am not mistaken... so it's also a dissociative in a way(maybe?).
I have certainly not once read on this forum people to describe it as a dissociatve among other effects it has.

Thanks for all your opinions guys . I know when I drink 6+ shots of any 80 proof or over real quick i get the dissociation and it doesn't really bother me but i can tell its there.

I think you may be confusing disoriented with disassociated. disoriented is losing track of time, not being able to judge distances, room spinning, etc. disassociated is feeling disconnected from your body, seeing aliens while in the 8th dimension, generally, experiencing something that is almost impossible to put into words. Ketamine is a disassociative - it is *nothing* like alcohol or being drunk.

No I'm experienced with dissociatives and when I'm shitfaced drunk I'm definately dissociated. You don't have to hole to be dissociated, I consider and feeling of disconnection from my body dissociation and alcohol is capable of producing this. I should say that I rarely drink so tolerance can be a factor but I remember when I was like 15 and downed 10 shots within 30mins I was incredibly dissociated, fuzzy feeling and vision along with the dis-attachment from my body.

No man i know what disoriented is it is disassociated because it brings on that feeling as if your not real like your living in a dream world and like your looking down on yourself in a camera . Thats how i would descrive it and i get that same feeling sometime with benzo with drawls either im stupid or i just have a really fuked up brain .

What your describing sounds like derealization more than dissociation although these two go hand in hand.
