Tolerance is a bitch.
I am currently on Fentanyl patch, 50mcg/hour, + up to 45mg oxy every 4 hours....My doctor is on the liberal side, but even he sometimes suggests that my stomach pain could be from opiate constipation even when I tell him that there is nothing wrong in that regard.....you know, the cure is actually the problem routine, so we will let you suffer and see how it goes. I dont think its possible to be a good pain doctor unless you have experienced pain.
I told my doctor that my patch is less effective after day 2, but he doesnt believe me. He says the patch lasts 3 days and strongly prefers that I wear it 3 days....in response to asking if I could swap mine every 60 hours instead of 72.
At least he started me on 50mcg/hour. Some of the conversion charts suggested less than half that amount, but I honestly dont see how that could have been effective for my pain when even this isnt cutting it most days.
