Opioids Doctor supervised opioid maintenance - not methadone nor buprenorphine.

You are right, nobody wants to be addicted to anything.

which is why I don't understand why the OP doesn't do a taper with bupe. Just getting bupe was a HUGE step forward for the United States in drug treatment. I agree that it isn't perfect but I truly think that the (very few) programs in the world that give heroin to (very few) people who cannot successfully kick it is misleading. Most of those people have tried quitting, both CT, and with the assistance of maintenance drugs numerous times, and they have the health records to prove it.
It is misleading for people like the OP who think they can be put on without having demonstrated a true desire to quit like everyone in these programs has.

Bupe is a very painful, very long, drawn out process. I probably should have made myself clear that ultimately being free is a goal in my mind that is entirely relevant on how I feel. When I am on buperenorphine though I simply can't function. I sleep late, I lay around with temperature swells under my skin, Im in a bad mood, indigenous endorphins are non existent etc etc.. Its as if its 1/4 of withdrawal all day, the day after tomorrow, and the next. When I referred to records I was referring to broken bones, cancer, car crash, surgery etc - I have a plethora of rehab and suboxone records, which if I might add made it near impossible to gain any sort of health insurance.

I want a normal life right now. Just like ontario guy said. Would it really be that big of an issue if it were any other substance, like a benzo or dilantin, or does the thought of someone walking around feeling that way make you uncomfortable because you can't be him? Do I need to be having a seizure or let you watch me lose my mind and possibly die from a heart attack first before any help is administered?

True.. I will admit that bupe has worked well for me before in the past, but only for a few days.. Anything longer than a 3 or 4 days in my opinion gets close to doing more harm than good due to the half life. Yea thats true! Death!

The third paragraph down nails it -

I'm all for having heroin clinics, I just don't think that living in the United States is going to help your chance of entering one.

What dosage of Suboxone were you taking?

^Yes alot of us who have sripts have failed CT and Methadone treatment.Ive been enrolled in the methadone program 4 times. When I first got a script for OC there wasn't a methadone clinic in my town,so they maintained me on oxy.

Also, the doctor will give you just enough to stop withdrawal, not get high.for example,my first script was for 3 80's a day when I was doing about 6 a day.And really that should be all you need.

I dont disagree at all with this method.Ive seen people get off in 3-4 months with this method, while I know people on methadone who have been on it for 25 years.(all the people I see at the clinic here have been a client there for years)

for some, bupe and meth work, for some people it doesn't.That's just the way it is.

I would talk to your doctor about daily dispensing.(e.g. go to the pharmacy every morning if possible to pick up your 3-4 pills)

Ontario was it pain management or family practice?

^This is my family Doctor,he is just a really good guy with a progressive attitude. He knows I go to school, have a job, date girls and have a pretty good life when Im not driving 200 kilometers in a day to buy Rx opiates.

I didn't mean to come off as a dick - In your orgininal posts you simply made it sound like you were unwilling to try subs or methadone. If nothing is working for you and you truly are trying your hardest, go for it, why not? There is no harm in trying to find a doctor that will work with you.
