Do you think it would be morally wrong for a dealer to do this?

A dealer wakes up one Monday and decides that it is time to expand. Too many customers are coming around once every two days, only every Friday, etc. Fuck that.

So the dealer gets a big box of rigs, buys enough smack to get started, and starts preparing sample shots. Using a little bit of psychology, he convinces 12 of his 30 customers to try IV heroin by Friday. Out of those 12, 6 come back to buy more less than a week later. For the other 6, he continues to offer a free shot to until they take it. After a month, all 12 of the customers are buying smack at least once a week. And slowly but surely, he is getting the rest of his old customers to try their first shots. By the second month he is able to quit selling pills and coke completely, and instead of having to wait until people's paydays to make money, he suddenly finds that his customers are consistently coming up with $20-$80 per day.

His margins are huge because the new addicts can't manage to put together enough money to buy even 1 gram most of the time. And they keep buying, so he has no trouble moving it. This was his plan all along.

Did he do something wrong? Explain.

I think that the dealer did something morally wrong, but in the real world too often we see business take priority over ethics, at the end of the day if you take the fact away that he is banking on a negative outcome for some of his customers this is nothing more than a probably smart business move. It is definately immoral to a point but unless he forces someone to take a shot they still had a say in the matter.

The truth is a hell of a lot of drug dealers do a hell of a lot worse than that, but to answer your question in my opinion he did do something wrong.

I dont see anything wrong with it those people decided to stick the needle in there arm. The probem I see is that most of his customers would probably have no idea how to shooy up but I guess thats a solvable problem.

Is it really that smart of a business decision if only a few months down the road your customers start droppin dead from overdose and others go off to treatment centers. It takes some longer than others, but you can't shoot smack forever. If your one that thinks you can your in denial.

Maybe he shouldnt have fucked his business up and stayed with the coke and pills afterall. Greed is what fucks alot of people up in that business and this motherfucker sounds greedy.

the people who decide to sign-up for the free trial, chances are they are fresh out of a traumatic episode, and in recovery

instead of getting their lives back on track

they are hooked on dope and stealing your son's iphone

Of course its morally wrong, no doubt about it! Its an intelligent business plan but definitely wrong because of the outcome we all know about.......................

Obviously this is morally atrocious. As far as business is concerned, it might make sense in the short term, but not in the long term.

Shit, everybody whose tried it was a first time spiker at one point. Remembering the times, I'd be less worried about the first dose and more worried about when people start taking the rigs home by themselves and making pincushions of their arms, missing shots, dosing shots that are too dark. I don't understand how smack dealers do it when they first start out. Either you slang in a specific area or you risk a police wire being on the other end of the phone because someone's friend died and they're setting you up for a bust.

Could never understand how they do it either.

He gave them the option, and they did it for themselves. But then again, who'd pass up free drugs? People are curious, and he took advantage of it. But they knew the risks, and they could've said no (assuming there was no coercion involved). In the sense concerning the people's well-being, it was immoral to offer the shot in the first place. But, they were already doing addictive drugs, what's one more rung on the ladder? Apparently the one to tip it over... Fuck, I don't know, it's a pretty manipulative little scheme he's got going on, but fuck me if it isn't a good business plan. This far in, I doubt he'd really care about morals and outside opinions. Is this a real guy or is this like, a thought experiment? This guy should be a CEO of like... Pall Mall's or something.

Is it morally wrong to go out of your way to get a person hooked on IV heroin for monetary gain? Thats more than morally wrong, that make him just about as big an asshole as its possible to be.

Unless hes a psycho/sociopath deviod of all emotion, eventually he might find it hard to enjoy the money, if any of his customers happen to OD and die for instance.

this especially the bit about greed i hate greedy people that prey on others .
i still buy H though but its my choice.

That shit is wrong, fuck that dealer, if he is real. Money shouldn't be above morals/ethics, this worlds is fucked.

See, thats the problem with our world, "greed is good", or at least the elite of our world think so, I mean, who do you think controls the drug trade? These bastards dont believe in morals when corrupting our society.

imho, the dealer is free from responsibility. the customers acted of their own free will, and his ability to predict the long term outcome is nothing more than an understanding of human nature.

He's encouraging crime so of course it's wrong. I see offering free samples as totally legit. You want your product to sell, so of course you advertise it. However, in this sort of business there's a bit more to it than that. Yah, money tends to take priority in the world of business but that doesn't mean it ought to be that way for all eternity.

If he planned on doing that all along then, then he must have no qualms about what he's doing. His mind sounds solid. Why should he care about right and wrong now that his plan is coming to fruition. If he's still shaky, then he should seriously think about it himself without guidance from others. They're just distractions.
