Do you prefer weight training or cardio?

Overall, i prefer weight training. However, i do cardio at least three times a week. I find it very interesting how different the feelings are i get from them. From lifting, i get an energetic/oxycodone like high. From running, i get an extremely sedated/morphine like high.

How about yall???

I love cardio. I just weight train for the results, it's boring, it's mostly sitting there resting, it takes a lot less than cardio but it's still too much, stretching your upper body is a lot harder than stretching your legs, and most of the times I can't get the muscles to fully lose up. I hate strenght traing I just do it to be and feel fit. hahaha...

I feel good when I exercise. I can't compare those feelings to drugs.
This is my reaction, also. No drug in the world can make me feel like I've done a great work-out. :\

I enjoy cardio more than weight and strength training. I almost feel like I'm slacking if I'm not blowing hard and sweating, likes do when I'm doing cardio - although I do work hard when I do toning and strengthening routines.

both. my favorite workouts are a combination of the two (high intensity interval training), but there are days when i really want to do one or the other.

I don't feel complete without both. I never *just* weight lift. Every time I work out I do cardio, and depending on how I feel or what I've been doing lately I add on the weight training. If I haven't lifted in a while I sort of crave it. I like to feel strong. I like to feel a hint of sore muscles every day, it lets me know I've been using them.

I try to combine them by doing my running while dressed in full fighting order, with the ~60-75~ pounds of gear that it entails, and stopping at intervals to do push ups/chin ups/crunches with all the weight still on me, giving me effect both weight training at cardio at the same time.

I like both as well. I used to weight lift primarily when I was younger, and then I stopped doing anything for awhile. I got pretty out of shape. Then I thankfully discovered all mountain MTB/trail riding. MTB combines them both pretty well too if you are hitting up some rough trails with decent sized drops, ramps, roots, and rocks.

I started weight training again to have more control over the bike, and to decrease the chance of me being put out of commission for longer periods due to injury when I fall. I used to go more for bulk when I was younger, but now I train more for leaner, more endurance oriented muscles that can still give a good shot of power when needed.

cardio usually because i'm lazy and just want to sweat quick and call it quits for the day, but weights are also fun because i can take it slow and the endorphin rush after is better than with cardio, ime.

You, my friend, are in amazing fucking shape :)

everybody needs both. u ever seen those uper body big guys with little ligs.ughhhh that looks horrible. i compare em to baseball bats

well Jt thats probably more because they dont work out their legs. You dont need to do cardio to be in shape, it just helps you sweat out water weight and burn more calories. But if you work out all your body areas equally, you wont look like the beach-lifters. Obviously, cardio is never a bad thing I just always preferred to just lift weights, maybe go for a jog once a week or something.
