Do you prefer to wear corrective lense when tripping?

So for those of you who wear contacts/glasses do you prefer to trip with them in/on or out/off? And how does tripping with them in/on differ from tripping with them out/off?

I have yet to trip without mine, mostly because I would have a hard time seeing anything without them. Though, now that I think about it, I'll have to try taking them out shortly. Could be interesting.

I have my contact lenses on most of the time anyway, so when I'm tripping I tend not to think about them any more than I would when I'm sober. I can't really feel them in my eyes anyway, unless they're dry or something.

I know what happens when i put on other people's prescription glasses when I'm tripping. I assume it'd be something like that? Usually I'm pretty coherent and not tripping THAT hard when i start playing with things like that, and my usual reaction is "wow that's trippy" (I know, I'm a genius). I'm curious about if it'd be different if you just took off someones prescription lenses without them really having any say in it. Would it change anything?

No. My glasses/contacts feel rather anti-psychedelic. My trip is much clearer when my vision isn't.

You know Ive never really thought about this, i have glasses but hardly ever wear them.

Whenever i put them on after not wearing them for a while it surprises me how clear everything is.. Im gonna have to try that while tripping.

I always put them in, the result of not using my contacts is not interesting whatsoever besides the notion that its the actual quality of my vision. I also prefer them over my glasses since I don't like how it seems I pull a different world over my eyes when I put them on, however inconspicuous the frame is.

There were identical threads on this before and I was just as disappointed then as I am now (though some people find it interesting so to each their own of course)

My old roommate did a half-assed experiment with this. He got lasik eye surgery about a year back, and tripped on LSD one last time with his glasses off, before the surgery while I took notes and asked questions. The plan was to have another session once he got the surgery, but I wasn't around for it and his girlfriend took horrible notes.

Could have been really interesting, but she ruined it.

I always trip with mine on, I'm near sighted and and so when I trip without my glasses on its just an even more noticeable blur over everythikng far away...including stars and trees and all the stuff I love to look at. When I forget to put them on when I'm tripping and then suddenly remember about them and put them on it's always a biiiig improvement.

I always keep mine in, my vision is so blurry without them that I cant even enjoy the visuals, or do anything. My friends always like wearing my glasses when their tripping though.

This thread brought up an interesting point I've thought about, and I'd like to ask some of you myopic (nearsighted) bluelighters.

I'm severely myopic (past -11.00 diopters) and when I look at a bright source/point of light without my glasses or correction, I see it as a burred circle. I remember being endlessly amused by the patterns I saw within as a child, because the circle's shape is controlled by the eyelids (blinking changes the pattern I see within the circle, to a vague degree). Do any of you have a similar effect without any correction (while sober)?
When I am tripping, these blurry light sources can be a great point of visuals for me. I've noticed various patterns that are intensified and changed. I have often felt like I was looking at bacteria under a microscope, or seen stars or honeycomb-like geometric patterns. I also notice visuals that seem to be caused or influenced by the edge of my glasses, where the light refracts in some strange ways. Does anyone else get these effects?

I've otherwise noted that since contact lenses give me the greatest amount of visual correction (versus glasses), these are usually best to induce more concrete/recognizable visuals in general. When I remove my glasses or contacts, the blurry stuff can be more interesting than it would be sober, but except for the aforementioned patterns from light sources/things that are extremely close to my face (within my natural visual range), I don't get any visuals from the blurriness.

i just got glasses about a couple months ago. i probably have like 20/30 or 20/40 vision though, so i have a very weak prescription. so i only wear them when i need to read the screen during lectures, or when i'm driving, or watching a movie, etc. (sober). so i wear them less than half of the time.

i've tripped a few times since i've got them, and i guess i prefer them on when i'm out walking around and looking at stuff. and off when i'm lying in bed with eyes closed. haha. obvious i guess

lol i just noticed this the other day sitting in class. When i had the tip of my ballpoint pen near my face with light hitting it so that there was a tiny dot of light on the tip of it, i then let my vision unfocus and was able to see exactly what you described. i sat there for almost the rest of class blinking and moving my eyes around watching the pattern change and move

Yeah, man!!! I know exactly what you're talking about. The bacteria floaties, the awesome patterns from the lightsources (sober). It's also fun to squint a lot and and distort the light, especially with sunlight. Getting tears and eyelashes in there, it can get so beautiful and rainbowy and intricate it's like I don't have to trip!

This thread really inspired me. I have never worn my glasses while tripping, but I've always wondered. I just got them like...4 or 5 months ago but have worn them around 10 times total. This weekend I'm eating a few hits and am curious to see how it changes my visuals. Thanks!
