i know this has been asked in the culture section, but i wanted cannabis only replies

personally i feel like it isn't a big deal to drive high, but i wouldn't say the same for most other drugs

Yes, me and many other pot smoker i know can drive high. Now there is of course a limit to how high you can be and still drive. Also, it is somthing that does take getting used too. I definatly don't endorse anyone driving while high but i think the marijuana high doesn't have many of the effects that make other drugs very dangerous to drive on. (prime example, alcohol:p)

I and many of my smoking friends can drive high and like Matterofperception stated there is a limit to how high you can be to drive there are some cases where you may be too high to drive, and it really does take getting used to, in my opinion it may be illegal but it makes me more aware of things while i drive and I've never been in an accident while driving Stoned, and ive never heard of anyone being in an accident while driving stoned.

yes I always drive high, and I smoke a lot while I drive too. Weeds really not bad when you drive, but again I can drive on anything since my mind and concentration are soo strong

Naaah, don't try this with alcohol. It really doesn't matter how strong-willed you are, driving drunk, especially REALLY drunk, will probably not end well.

Also, don't try driving on high doses of benzos. I pulled into the middle of an intersection one time while benzo'd, narrowly escaped a wreck only to bust my tire on a curb. And this was the morning AFTER I had taken a high dose of clonazepam.

I'd even go as far as to say that high doses of opiates would be a bad decision too.

In fact, I have a small list of drugs you shouldn't drive on (other than those already mentioned): PCP, LSD, Psilocybin, DMT, Nitrous, Ketamine, and Salvia

There are definitely others that should be included on this list.

i used to drive all the time high. after being in 2 serious accidents tho (once when i was just high but wasnt my fault, and the other when i took a large amount of oxy and smoked some weed and i nodded out and ran into a tree) i try not to drive but i usually end up driving anyway.

You can drive drunk or with your eyes closed, it doesn't make it a good idea. Drug driving is irresponsible. I'm not saying I haven't done it, but it endangers others which is not an acceptable result of drug use.

this.

just because you can drive high dosent mean everyone can.

/thread.

Funny thing, there are a few people that get weed from the government. On the bottle, it has a warning about driving, something to the effect of: "Don't drive until you are familiar with the effects of the drug."

When even the government admits it's alright once you're used to it...

thats a little bit of an over simplification...

it still dosent mean people who are not prescribed this medication who potentially abuse it can drive nder its influence.

If you have to be stoned all the time as a side-effect of treatment for a debilitating medical condition, you can probably justify driving high. Recreational use followed by driving isn't necessary at all, it's selfish, reckless endangerment of others.

last time i tried replying to a similar thread it ended up being close while i was typing it out. it wasn't short either. :p

i probably drive better when i'm high, due to super-awareness.

Word, Jam. I'm super aware of what's going on. Unless it's night time, and there's all kinds of flashing lights. Then, I get distracted. Lol.

i don't think it's such a dangerous idea, even the government lets you smoke medical weed and then drive, they know it happens and don't do anything about it

with a lightened drivetrain, it's tough enough to work the gearshift sober. just a disaster high. i also end up spacing out looking at clouds. fucking clouds. i almost ran over a fucking officer once. one lane was blocked over an accident, i had just come from a session... he stepped out in front and i screetched to a halt as the intersection lights turned red. he came over to my window yelling. good thing it was the daytime and i had my shades on because my eyes was red like a monkey's anus.

then someone called his name, he turned his head, i asked very quietly if i'm being detained then waited 2 seconds and stomped the pedal thru the fucking firewall

i don't drive fucked up ever since
