I have done both (coke especially), but I wouldn't exactly say I do both. Cocaine is too easy to cut and a lot of what hits the streets in the US is dogshit with a steep price, at least for the effects produced. Even "high quality" coke only provides a short lasting, highly compulsive high that I just don't really care to seek out. I could see how my opinion might change if I lived in South America but as is it's just an okay drug that I don't mind taking but I wouldn't seek it out.
Meth I find enjoyable for the first 4 or so hours, reminds me of a low dose of MDMA. Unfortunately for me I'm susceptible to stim comedowns and meth overstays it's welcome too long for my liking. The second half of the experience consists of a euphoria-less overstimulation, but I'm too scatterbrained to focus that energy on something productive... it's just not worth the semi-pleasant first few hours, especially when MDMA feels way better, cleaner, and without too much of a comedown.
You're right though, most meth users I've known don't care for coke, I can see their points. Meth lasts longer, feels more euphoric at high doses (probably subjective), is much cheaper (especially in CA), and overall provides more bang for your buck. If I was a heavy stim user on a budget I would probably opt for meth as well, thankfully I can live without both though. I know people who don't crash hard on meth, for these people I totally get their appeal for the drug.
