Hi, I recently created a thread in which I was looking for ways to curb my opiate use. Thanks to you guys, I now drink Chamomile Tea at night for sleep (placebo, but I sleep, when before I needed heavy medication nightly, go figure!) and have been drug free almost this entire month in 2014. I still have been chipping this month, about once a week and now I have gathered some momentum and am going towards 2 weeks clean off of Oxycodone (this Saturday becomes 2 weeks).
I have thought long and hard about what it is that I want and I know my answer. I do not want to quit opiates forever. At least where my life is now, I want to have the weekend warrior option available on the weekends. I definitely do not want to quit for good.
My plan is to take about 6 - 12 weeks off, get everything in order and then use, at the most, once a week. Now this leads me to my question; will once a week use keep me in PAWS forever? Like will I constantly be fighting PAWS if I use once a week after a month long break? Do other weekend users who have never been physically addicted before suffer any problems from using opiates on weekends? Will any other long term problems that occur with daily use, apply to me if I use only once a week, but have been addicted before?
I know I should refrain from using ever again, but I can't. Believe me when I say this, but I need something for my weekends at least, so let's assume that I will be able to keep my weekend regiment on track.
My main goal is to have a good and normal life 6 days of the week, and have one where I can blow off some steam and enjoy a relaxing high. I want to ensure that I am healthy and that the opiates won't be affecting my mental or physical state during my sober days, so is there anything I should know?
Thanks guys, and as always, your advice has always been very helpful to me. I never thought I was ever going to be able to sleep without heavy medication, but now I can, so I am very happy about that part.
