Do stamps REALLY mean nothing?

I think. . .perhaps. . . at the end of the day we'd all agree [if i may be so bold]

that while it's possible in certain, familiar, localized, circumstances the press/color might give some sort of clue to those close enough to it's source the bottom line is . . .

can't hurt to test. . . better safe than sorry. . .

maybe we can all agree anyway. . .?
 
I'm with ClubNymphs. I've experienced some of the scenarios that s/he describes. (I had an awesome batch of pills, went back to the same dealer the next day, got another batch of the same pills - they weren't anywhere near as good).

The OP is right that if you're in a small area, and you get two batches of pills with the same colour and logo, in close succession to each other, they may well be the same. But there are no guarantees. So it is better to say that brands mean nothing, and you should test your pills, rather than judge solely on the brand (as someone mentioned above, with the blue dolphins).

They certainly are far from a truly reliable method of judging if you got good pills or not, I'm not trying to say they are. It is true that people can make a pill with anything they want in it, and put any stamp they want on it. However..... if your relatively in tune with the local drug scene, and you heard of a batch of <insert stamp here> that was pretty good that your friend dropped 3 days before, and he can get more. If you hear from another friend that they can get some pills of that same stamp, then although they aren't neccesarily good pills.....it's very likely that they are. Especially if you take into consideration lots of little things (alot of pills have a line kind of around the edge, some dont, some have little speckles on them, some dont....etc.....) so there's alot of attributes to a pill other than the stamp that you can use for judgement.

If your going on a pill testing site, and you see that there was a batch of white supermans from 5 years ago that were good, and decide its straight to pop 5 of the white supermans you just bought, that's obviously retarded...and whenver you buy pills you shouldnt take more than 1 or 2 until you've tried them/tested them first.

At the same time, I still feel that stamps can give you a hint as to how they might be if your "in the know" on the local drug scene, or if there's a pill on a testing site from near you that has been tested recently. The hint can very well be a total lie, so in the end it's nothing solid, but it's more of a clue than if every roll looked exactly the same.

I guess maybe I'm just rambling, but those are my thoughts.

You have some good points, I agree with you.

In my city big batches come around so the word spreads quick and you always know what to grab.

Dont really do E anymore, just adding my 2 cents :D
 
It also depends alot on who you are and the situation you're getting them in I'd imagine. If its someone who will never see you again (like just some random guy in a club) that you're getting them from, they wont be too afraid to sell you bunk rolls. But anyone who's from any of the areas I spend alot of time in and who knows who I am wouldn't make the mistake of knowingly ripping me off...but again, random people in clubs dont know who the fuck you are and they know you dont know them and cant do shit if they fuck you over.

That's why it is so important to test your pills.

Someone who is manufacturing pills and is pressing them can put just about any substance in the pill that they want to, inactive ingredients or otherwise.

The stamp on the pill really doesn't mean much at all, it can be useful when combined with other methods of determining content, but I don't think the stamp should be used as the sole means of identification.

Agreed. At the start of the thread, I said myself it shouldn't be used as the only method of identification, and can't be considered a reliable method. I wasn't trying to say it was a reliable method. I was just trying to say, it doesn't mean NOTHING, and can give somewhat of a hint as to what it might be.

Problem is, everyone argued my point as if I claimed that it is a reliable method of testing a pill, which I stated in my original post that it isn't. I understand you want to avoid people from getting the wrong idea...as this is a harm reduction website, but I just feel like it wasnt really discussed the way I was hoping.

and for the most part (with exceptions as allready discussed at length here) I agree with you. . .

when I made the post I did it wasn't to argue with your thoughts so much as just to re-itterate MazDan and HisNameIsFrank's posts. . .

I appologize if I came across as argumentative as that wasn't the intent. . .

I would GUESS [based on nothing more than a hunch] that the majority of people that view these forums are not in the know and are your average end market user. . . it's these people that have the highest likelyhood of seeing a post like this and misinterpreting it to read "dude these are pink polka dotted spoon stamped tabs so i KNOOOOOWW they're the best cause my cousin in another country had one once 3 years ago and he loved them"
