I Have a long hair and my mom told me to cut it. It's my dream to let my hair grow long. But my mom told me that I became thinner because of my hair. What I'm gonna do now???

What is the scientific basis of her comment?? I have never heard anything like that before.....

In fact, I have generally believed it to have the OPPOSITE effect. If you lose weight, especially if you lose it rapidly or in an unhealthy manner, you hair will become thinner and not able to grow as long as before.

No disrespect to your mama but I suspect there isn't any truth to her comment....
Ask her for more information though, I would be interested to know where she heard it from.

what is this, I don't even....

As n3o said, the health of your hair can reflect & be be indicative of your general health. Significant weight loss (e.g. through eating disorders) can cause hair loss too. Having long hair will not make you lose weight...

Listen to N3o!
she speaks the truth.
Personally, I can be a bit more, how can i say, direct about these things.

Your mum is talking out of her arse.
Hair length has nothing to do with your weight. And even if it did, it's your fucking choice man.
I can't stand it when parents repress or impose their own outdated ideologies on their kids, if their is no real reason for it.
I presume your over the age of 16 at least, and if so, it's your body and you can look how you want if it makes you feel comfortable.
we have enough social pressures growing up, without the need for trying to live out our parents missed opportunities, or having to maintain an appearance that were not comfortable with.
If it's your dream to grow your hair out.
do it.

Tell your mum this......
"listen mum, i know you love me and you want what is best for me, and i really appreciate that.
May I just say though, whilst I love you, i think you are forgetting what it is like to be young yourself.
Did you never want to wear something or watch something or listen to something that your parents disagreed with?
Ultimately i'd like to grow my hair out long, and to make up my own mind if i want to keep it or not. I'm not a kid anymore, and i need to learn things for myself, make my own mistakes, or how will i learn?
I feel comfortable and free that way, personally and socially.
And if i'm comfortable and free, i'm happy.
You do want me to be happy don't you mum?"

If that doesn't work i don't know if anything will.
so just fuck it and do it anyway.
but at least you tried.

be happy..

I have to talk to my mom with this matter. Thanks for the advice guys. It's waken me. :)

I feel like I've been abducted by a bad wig and probed anally in a UHP (unidentified hair piece).

My mom said that, my hair is getting the vitamins that suppose to be in my body.

lol^

sorry i'm not laughing at you or your situation. i really hope you work it out.
But your mum is speaking bollocks man!
Ask her for some empirical evidence to substantiate her claim!

hehe. It's ok man.

And that's exactly why I chew on my hair. Gotta get my daily dose of vitamins.

The poor kid probably just got a thrashing.

I can picture the mom administering the whipping with hair extensions like "You (whip) want (whip) long hair? (whip) I'll (whip) give (whip) you (whip) long hair! (whip whip whip)"

Alright folks, no more fun allowed in this forum. Keep your humor to yourselves.
