I understand freebase to be the sole molecule, and acetate to mean bound to an acid. If acetic acid is the acid, is it true that heat will break it down to freebase, meaning it is smokable, just with higher temp, or is this false?

Anybody who has made and smoked acetate or is it not worth, just make freebase?

Also, how would one remove the sodium acetate that would be pulled into alcohol alongside the freebase when added to sodium carbonate to reform the base? I've seen a tek of just adding water to final product and filtering, as the sodium acetate should be soluble, but not the dmt. Would that work?

Also, fumarate is the same but pulled with fumaric acid rather than acetic?

IME, DMT acetate even though it's a salt is a very oily substance and pretty difficult to work with. I ended up smearing it onto a joint where it didnt really vape as well as freebase would. granted I made it with extract, so maybe purer acetate would be a solid.

Orally on the other hand the acetate is far superior in regards to bioavailability because it is much more water soluble. If I am taking a non ayahuasca oral DMT concoction, I will always dissolve my dmt into 5-10mLs of vinegar and drink it about 20 minutes after my Syrian rue/Maoi tea. They both taste pretty bad, but beats taking ayahuasca goo and very little nausea.

So for smoking, freebase is preferred and also easier to make.

Orally the acetate or fumarate is preferred.

There were a few theories around about putting DMT into various liquids to produce less nauseating salts. I forget which salt it was but if you drop your DMT into coca-cola it supposedly turns it into the phosphate salt? I forget which one it was.

It made no difference to the nausea tho - 20-30 minutes after swallowing the DMT it was like an alien was trying to punch it's way out of your stomach.

My issue is that the only solvent I have is limonene. The initial product will certainly be acetate. The only way to remove the dmt from this solvent is to salt it out in some way, and im almost certain the acetate salt is one of the only smokable salts after some more research. I'm planning on making a tincture (so it isn't a difficult to work with goo, as the acetate pulls moisture from the air) after I evaporate the vinegar, that I will then evaporate (alcohol) with low heat in the pipe prior to smoking. What do you guys use to smoke dmt? I don't really have a meth pipe... light bulb tek?
