Police are trying to find out more about a 'particularly bad batch of drugs' after a man died and five people were admitted to hospital at a music venue. Police were called to Manchester Royal Infirmary at about 4.30am today after the death of a 30-year-old man who had collapsed at the Warehouse Project in Trafford, Manchester. Officers were also made aware that five other people had been admitted to hospital feeling unwell after taking a 'controlled drug' at the same venue, Greater Manchester Police said.

They are currently being assessed and treated by medical staff. An investigation has been launched and inquiries are ongoing, the force confirmed today. Detective inspector Aaron Duggan said: 'It is possible that there may a particularly bad batch of drugs out there in the community and that is a concern to us.' Mr Duggan added: 'If you attended the Warehouse Project last night and are feeling unwell, I would ask you to go to hospital for a check-up as soon as possible. 'I would always urge people not to take illegal drugs and remind them that you do not know what they have been made up with. They can contain poisons and illicit chemicals that can have potentially fatal effects.'

Haha. Dm strikes again. Im sure everyone who didnt feel well at the show is on their way to the hospital now to get checked out. Great advice.

Unbelievable in all honesty!

4 fucking people have survived this! Havent they been asked anything about the "drugs"? Powder or pills? Logo's? Doses? Packaging, baggie, wrap? Surely there must be a wee bit more useful information that that!

Yea when i first read this, i thought wow that is a huge releif and weight off my mind. I was wondering if drugs could be dxangerous, and the daily mail confirmed my suspicion. I know they like to make sensational crap up, but this is like the editor said they had a few lines available and neededd some drug scare filler. So they winged up the broadest most redic article ever possible. I think i can say this is the worst ive ever seen from the dm. Isnt the news supposed to be informative?

Well, at least they didn't just say it was generically bad. They said it was particularly bad. What more info do you need?
