Dizziness on Oxycodone -- will there be on Oxycontin, too?

If I am dizzy on Oxycodone (basically Percocet) will I be dizzy on Oxycontin, too?

I also had a headache, serious one, for 2 days on the Oxycodone.

Oxycontin is oxycodone so if that's whats causing the dizziness than yea

Well, then my question is for anyone who has had this happen: does it go away over time, has it taken awhile, etc?

I've had it happen to me a lot on Perc's, but never on OC's. I believe it had a lot to do with how your body absorbed it. 40mg's of Percocet running it's full course over 3 hours is a lot different than 40mg of ER OC over 8 hours.

What's the dose?

Maybe if it happens on the percs and not the OC's than maybe its from the APAP, since oxycontin is just straight up oxycodone and the percocet's contain APAP

Very good point and a lot of people are allergic as well.

It was the oxycodone without the apap.

If anyone else has info on the dizziness/headache -- I'm a little scared to try this new one if the same stuff would happen except for hours on end.

Thanks. :\

If your having problems with oxy, why not try hydrocodone? I find it's more sedating, I actually prefer hydro to oxy in most cases.

Well, I'm looking for a long acting, plus hydrocodone makes me neurotic. The oxycodone makes me "flat" dont know how to further describe that.

Opana makes me feel like actual living death.

I've never tried Oxycontin -- I don't know if it would be the one or not. But, I was SERIOUSLY dizzy on oxycodone -- I'm glad that might not carry over.

Like I said before, it's the same shit..

Percocet comes in 5, 7.5, and 10 mg doses of oxycodone with 325 or 500 mg APAP

Oxycontin is just straight up Oxycodone

^ this, I'm wondering if others have had similar due to absorption issues with how the pills are made?

You just described how bad you felt on basically 3 kinds of opiates. Maybe opiates are not for you. They are not for everyone. First time I tried hydrocodone & oxycodone was 10 years ago & they made me very nauseated & dizzy so I stopped taking them.

Didnt touch them again until 10 years later. Some way, some how they dont bother me anymore.

^What this guy said.

OxyContin, "OC", and oxycodone are all the same drug. Oxycodone. Percocet is oxycodone and APAP, its active ingredient is oxycodone.

There is no difference between the oxycodone in OxyContin and Percocet.

Well, obviously I'm desperate. I am heartened by the story of they way they are absorbing affecting dizziness.

For instance, myself, cannot take regular paxil, but ER, I tolerate -- dizziness is the issue there, too.

Thanks for the info.
