My parents divorced when i was 3, which is probably a good age because I never really remember them ever being together.

Ditto.

My mom and her partner since then have been together 18 years...

I was about 3 or 4 too, I have only one memory of when they were together, like a photo in my head of us having a picnic at my grandma's house.
It's strange, the idea of my mum and dad being together is so weird, it's hard to picture them together!
My parents always got along after that,no custody battles or anything like that, so emotional effects are zero.
