diluadid 8mg compares to perc 10 question. Please Help!

I am on Percocet 10. I am about to come off them but I have a dilaudid 8mg that someone gave me. I ever took 1 before and from what I read I know it a stronger. I was goin to break it on half and take half now and the other half as needed. My question really is whwhat effect if the 4mg dilaudid going to have on me, as far as a high goes? Will it be similar to a perc high? And jst to be sure taking 1 of these pills even with my perc addiction won't severely screw me up right I was gonna take it when I ran out of percs, later on and then wake up tomorrow and start my withdrawal process. I guess I was jst looking for some info on dilaudid and make sure it wouldn't make my situation worst? Like should I just not take the dilaudid at all or is it ok to take to hold me over till tonight n I'll go to sleep n start my withdrawal tomorrow. Just didn't know it would give me a similar high as Percocet. Thanks for any information anyone gives me. I appreciate it.

10mg oxycodone and 4mg hydromorphone are fairly equipotent, so as far as analgesia is concerned, there shouldnt be much of a difference. It should at least hold off the withdrawal until you are ready to start that lovely process I realize this response is probably a day late but throwing it out there anyway. The only thing I personally notice between equivalent doses of oxy and any other opiate/oid is that the oxy gives me far more energy which is why I love it so much but ymmv.

In my experience I'm 236lbs and 4-6mg dilaudid insufflated wasn't as good as 3x5mg percs taken orally.The dilaudid felt like taking 80mg otc codeine in my experience.From what I've read dilaudid is only worth while IV'd which isn't something I'm into.
