dilaudid

I was in the hospital last week and the nurse was having a hard time finding my veins for an IV. After five attempts, she gave up and decided to administer my pain medicine by injection instead. Well, when she left the room, she left a preloaded syringe of dilaudid (which was supposed to go into the IV). I put it in my bag and brought it home with me and I was wondering... Can I use it? It has been in my fridge for almost a week now.

To be honest, I don't have enough knowledge to make much sense of the above. If it helps you any then great. There's loads more info on dilaudid at the site from where I lifted this. Check there. Also search on-line.

What *I* would do is boil it for a bit then go ahead & bang it.

I can't think of any reason why not. You should, however, check the dosage on the syringe -- if it was mean for an IV drip, it could containe enough Dilaudid that it could be dangerous to take all at once. Also, check to make sure if syringe is still sealed/sterile...

There is no harm in this, it's an IV preperation so rock and roll (might wanna use a new rig just to stir it up a bit) ... definitly check the dose, you don't want to be taking too much...
