Opioids dilaudid not working help

Hey everyone! My pain management dr has me trying taking diluadid at night to see if I can sleep better. I usually take oxycodone but I haven't been sleeping lately. When taking an 8 mg diluadid, I felt nothing. I tried taking 2 more. Same thing. No high. No pain relief. What would be the correct dose to try snorting to equal say 60 mg of oral oxycodone?

I know conversion charts are out there. It's what I used to calculate the oral dose. Just could use some help calculating the insulated conversion from an oral roa. Any thoughts ?

the reason you didn't feel anything is because dilaudid's BA orally is very, very low compared to oxycodone. so if you have an oxycodone tolerance, even a moderate one, dilaudid isn't going to feel like anything.
 
Yes it's worth snorting. If you read my above post, the BA insufflated is 50-60%. I said ROA but meant BA, so yes snorting it would be worth it, in my opinion.
 
Ok. Thanks. I think it's worth a shot too. So if oral oxy has a bioavailability of about 60 and snorting diluadid is about 50-60 then an equivalent dose of about 22 mg should be ok in theory right? Of course I'm a big boy and don't expect anyone to tell me what dose to take for fear of them being "responsible", just wanna make sure my thinking is correct. That those should be somewhat equivalent?
 
Oxycodone is a little less than half the strength of Dilaudid so whatever mg you take using Oxycodone, cut that in half for Dilaudid. Remember though, the BA is a lot higher snorting it than taking it orally for Dilaudid. There's also a theory that waiting a couple minutes in between lines will help the mucus membrane absorb it better. If your accustomed to 60mg of Oxycodone, I wouldn't snort any more than 16mg of Dilaudid. I already feel irresponsible typing this for some reason. Can you report back and let us know at least how it went and if you're ok? Good luck.
 
I'll let you know how it goes. Don't feel irresponsible cause I woulda done more. But I'll start at 16 and see what happens. Thanks for all your help.
 
Sometimes this would happen to me with 8mg. I would just put two 4mg in my mouth, chew and swallow. The pain relief came on quick and lasted for a while.

So you think the 8s didn't work as well as two 4s? If your chewing I don't think it should matter can't see why the two 4s would be any better.

So I'm fine. 16 at least made me feel it a bit but still disappointing considering this drugs reputation. But whatever. I'll probably stick with the oxycodone for now and save these for back ups
 
^I think "Drugstore Cowboy" is the culprit for everyone thinking this drug is so "special"...

IV it gives a decent " rush", but lasts all of 10 minutes as far as a "high" goes...

Oxycodone is a far superior drug all-around...
 
^Sure, it's not like it "completely sucks" as a pain med or a recreational drug, but it's nothing special....IR oxy puts it to shame IMO...

Don't want your doc to check your nose and find globs of dilaudid...he might not like that lol.

Oxycodone is probably the best ORAL opioid for pain relief. As far as bioavalibility anyway. I personally find it much more addictive than hydro, which is...well they are all addictive but oxycodone is definitely the one that will get it's hooks deep in you're brain.

Wish my doctor's hand was a little more liberal...not leftist tho, we're right wing all the way. OTC morphine and cocaine back in Coca-Cola so the stupid junkies can kill themselves off..hell I might even be part of the death toll lol.
Now that's the American dream..capitalism, indivualism, and lack of restraint. Good ol' U.S.A..too bad it's not so good anymore.
 
The US has the nerve to allow dilaudid to be legal as schedule II",yet you need to redose every 3 hours IVed, or orally take to 8 times a day. Shit I see heroin
with less abuse potential than dilaudid
