Title says it all I suppose, I had a bad abscess the other day, my cheek was all puffed out I went to the hospital, they gave me lortabs and some doxycicline, the next day it had gotten WORSE, much worse, whole face was swollen up to my eyes they were even swollen, the Doc wrote me for 25 count of the 2 mg dilaudids and pushed 1 mg hydromorph through my iv...

They scheduled me for emergency oral surgery this morning to which I went and got scripted another 30 lortab 7.5's

Now for the question why did this Doctor give me 25 dilaudids? and how can I take this to good effect WITHOUT banging them. first of all I have no syringes nor even now how to IV properly honestly I think I'd probably kill myself if I tried, although I might not be averse to it if someone experienced showed me the ropes but I don't think that's gonna happen, I know eating them is out, I snorted 3 last night, I got an alright buzz but nothing to write home about, not even like eating 25 mg of oxy or anything, so for now I've just been taking the Lortabs, seem like I get more of a euphoria from them and I'm up to 50 mg lortab cwe'd for the day.. I'm holding onto the hydromorphone till I find a proper way to experience them, sooooooooo theres GOT to be another way to get the most out of this, I even read that Plugging these STILL have a shitty bio-availability so cmon some of u Advanced discussion enzyme guys have got to know something about this. How do I get more out of Hydromorphone without IV ing it? AND why on earth did the ER Doc give me 25 Dilaudids out of nowhere is he trying to Kill me? LOL

Snorting or plugging (which is out if you have no syringe) are the only options if you don't IV. And while he was more generous than most ER doctors are he's hardly trying to kill you. Dilaudid has a reputation gained from IV users who love them, but while they are potent on a mg for mg basis there is nothing magic about them. Reference an opiate conversion chart and see how many it will take to get the high you want compared to an opiate you are more familiar with.

the IV rush is like none other
if you don't have any rigs or aren't willing to shoot up, snorting will probably be your best option because you need a syringe (although needle-less) for plugging. I'd definitely recommend shooting but that's just because I'm a junkie :p

Yeah I've never shot anything, but they gave me some in my IV yesterday I was excited at first but I felt absolutely nothing... it was like I didn't even take an opiate at all... a little dissapointed, I suppose my tolerance was too high for their theraputic dose to get me high, shit, I've taken about 80 mg hydrocodone throughout the day and still didn't get 'TOO" high off of it, but those doses were spread out throughout the whole day though. that's the most lortab I've Ever taken actually. so my tolerance isn't too high. last night after I got the script of "D" I snorted 3 of them for a total of 6 mg, I felt good and talkative but No real strong opiate euphoria so maybe tomorrow I'll snort 6 mg all at once, cause I did those 3 in a 2 hour period. that might be why, so tomorrow I'll crush up 3 of them, and just snort them up in a short period and then if I'm not feeling too much I'll add a few lortab too it.
sound good?

Plugging dilaudid is the solution. PM John Burrows, he has a large script for hydromorphone and will swear by plugging them. Honestly the rush plugging them is pretty awesome, you just need the right dose bpayne. Tell a hospital if you have an opiate tolerance, the 1mg they gave you is for an opiate naive person, so of course you didn't really feel it. They honestly won't ask any questions if you tell them you're opiate tolerant, I've been in the same situation, and never had any issue. In this case you actually needed relief and such, so speak up! I think plugging 6 to 8 mg of dilaudid would be perfect for you, and I don't think you would be disappointed ;) It has an intense rush, but the high lacks in duration. Best of luck to you bud, and hopefully that surgery goes well. I've watched so many videos of abscesses being drained, they are nuts!

Captain Heroin that is such an Awesome Idea, I have a childrens Nebulizer in the shape of a Panda in my closet somewhere I am going to seriously look into that tomorrow, thread is bookmarked, yeah, I don't have an actual large tolerance also, I mainly just take tramadol and I like that just fine, today my 80 mg of hydrocodone was split up over the whole day, I took 37 mg at 1 pm, then another 15 or so at 3 pm and that was more than enough for that point, then at around midnight I started feeling my pain return so I ate another 28-30 mg, so it wasn't like I took it all at once, that would've been dangerous to me. I'm pretty sure most of what I took earlier today was out of my system by the time I took the last dose. but in Total that was how much it all added up to. anyways I"m going to look into the plugging and the nebulizer ideas they both sound great. and Cyrax99 I probably would've told them I had a larger tolerance had I known I did, I haven't done any other opiates besides tramadol in months, and even then I was just doing hydro in 30 mg amounts.. so I had no idea what mg amount of dilaudid they gave or that it wouldn't effect me, but it's good to know for next time, I suppose the bulk of my tolerance comes from back in the fall I was doing up to 2-3 mg of buprenorphine a day recreationally, and a month or so later I was doing opana, snorting 8-10 mg lines in a dose for a couple of weeks, but other than that I really don't have any opiate experience other than occasional vicodin doses of 30 mg or less and taking 4-800 mg of tramadol everyday for the last year and a half, so you tell me, do you think I have a decent opiate tolerance?
p.s. sorry for babbling, I'm on the tail end of that last 30 mg dose of lortab I took at midnight lol, bout to eat something soft and go to bed
peace
B

Many people have natural opiate tolerances, and also once you have done a decent amount of opiates, your tolerance never seems to ever go all the way back down. I mean of course a long break will lower your tolerance, but for most people, they can never go all the way back down to their baseline. I can testify to this, there was like an entire year I didn't do opiates, and it took a good 25 to 30 mg of hydrocodone to get me feeling good the first time I did it again, and the first time ever two did me in. It does sound like you have a light moderate tolerance, nothing too big, but you're not a lightweight by any means. If you can do 80 mg of hydrocodone in a day, I don't see 1mg of hydromorphone really doing anything for you recreationally bro.

right, well I did 80 today for the first time, but it was over a 12 hour period, I would know if it was too much right? I don't feel any bad symptoms but it's not like I would go to sleep and od after being fine and alert the whole time is it?

You PMed me that, I answered it thoroughly for you. Long story short, you're fine ;)

Out of curiosity, any idea how you got the abscess?

Also, I'm surprised you were Rx'd dillies (even if they're the 2mg tabs) for an abcess. Perhaps the doctor thought you are suffering from severe pain because the abcess is close to several tooth nerve endings (and that does actually hurt like a bitch - I've had a couple). Not sure really, just a guess.

Yeah, I've had several teeth in my mouth that have cracked and broken in the last year, and the year before that I had a couple break, and one of them had to be extracted. but recently the ones that broke(about 3) all of them have developed toothaches at one time or another, and I wasn't in too much pain from it because I normally take about 10-15 tramadol a day everyday for the past couple of years unless I"m withdrawing from it, usually toothaches go away if I keep them clean and whatnot as I never have the money to see a dentist even though I know i should, well this tooth in particular a top molar second from the back on my left side just started hurting worse and swelling a few days ago, I didn't think too much of it, so I went to the hospital and got some antibiotics, well the next day, my whole face had swoll up like a thousand bees done stung me or something lol..... the sad part is this tooth isn't the one that has given me the most problems in the past year it's a new
"cracking" so to speak....

EDIT: as to why he scripted me dillies for my abcess I have no idea, I was wondering that myself, I do know my whole face was swollen even my eyes, and he said it was pretty serious and that I needed emergency surgery in the morning because it could get into my bloodstream soon as the antibiotics I was taking before weren't working and I had to get these expensive ass antibiotics that was 70 bucks, clyndamacin -sp?
but I was sitting there all day and complaining the lortab wasn't helping with the pain and they brought me something for pain and said it was toradol, I was like wtf, I told them it did nothing, so when the doctor Finally came in he said, sorry I wasn't trying to be mean by leaving you in pain all day I just couldn't give you a narcotic because I wasn't sure if we were going to transfer you for surgery today or not, but I scripted you stronger meds it's called "dilauded" then he instructed the nurse to push some through my IV, I nodded calmly ( while inside I was like Hell yeah mufuckas!!! lol)

lmao.

i know this sounds bad, but IV is really the only way to go with dillies. Ive done them every way, and any other way besides IV is a complete waste once u go the IV route. I was in your situation like a year and a half ago, and what i did was just save the dilaudid for a rainy day when i had the courage to march down to the pharmacy and pick up some rigs, and learn the process. I actually had some help from a few bluelighters who helped talk me through the process so that I could do it as safely as possible. The needle is addicting in itself tho so be careful. ive seen a lot of people fucked by it. i haven't injected anything for like 8 months, so it's not like if you do try it you'll become a full blown needle addict.

well I've still got 'em so we'll see what happens,. funny thing.. I'm not sure if I'm overthinking this or not but I may have figured out why they shot me right from lortab to dilauded, well, when the nurse was looking for a spot to put my IV in she noticed a needle hole in my arm, now this is a hole that's been there for 5 years, ever since I use to donate plasma twice a week for like 6 months straight, and ever since then in the crook of both arms I've had a needle hole scar in each, also when they fingerprint me they see a huge gash in my finger where they've pricked it all the times to check my blood but anyways... the nurse put my IV right into the scar hole of the old needlemark... and also when they said they was giving me dilaudid, she remarked, "I didn't think I'd have to tell YOU what dilaudid was" I just gave her a funny look cause I didn't know what she meant at the time.. but do u think her seeing the old needle scar from when I use to donate plasma made her misconstrue that I was an IV drug user? and they thought I had a high tolerance and went straight to dilaudid? just a thought, I dunno

^^
that's an interesting assumption. i too used to donate plasma twice a week for awhile and i have a somewhat noticeable scar too. the mark left from blood transfusion needles is a lot larger than the mark left by needles most drug users use tho. it's definitely a possibility tho, who knows. also, some people get noticeable scars from donating blood frequently, so for her to immediately assume IV drug use seems a little odd, but who knows. maybe your scars scrunched up smaller than mine did and therefore more resemble suspicious activity lol.

Same thing happened to my husband -- went in to the doctor with some kind of a (turns out) rare rash and they were like "what street drugs are you on today"?

Good ole plasma scars!

hahahahaha that's funny about the needle scars. i've had bruises and holes up and down my arms from letting my students learn how to start an IV. needles are addicting in the same way that piercings and tattoos are addicting.

Same thing here. I have plasma scars and have had the crooked comments from medical staff suggesting that I may have a "history". My scars are visible and have been asked if I was a junkie by dates. So, yes, plasma scars can attract attention, even from medical staff that you would expect to be worldly.

that is crazy that so many people have experienced that, AND that in this case it seemed to work out in my favor by getting me dilaudid which I have never tried before LoL
