Dihydrocodeine-second time-auditory hallucinations

Right behind you.....
I took DHCs for my second time recently, using a much lower dose than my first time, this time, I took 4x30mg pills.

I stayed up talking on MSN for a while, until nausea came on and I had to lie down.

My PC has one of the side covers took off it, as I replaced a hard drive not long ago, and am too lazy to put it back on, so its fairly noisy, and vibrates a lot.

I started getting typical opiate effects, and a fair amount of dizziness, wierd thing was, the vibrations from my PC started turning into a voice, I was really fucked at the time, and laid there for about 2 hours, listening to my PC ranting on about shit, I can't remember what it was about now, I never do remember much about the goings on while on opiates, at least not so far anyway.

I got some interesting morphing CEVs from it too, mostly like warped objects flying around and shit like that, if I hadn't known they were prescription opiate pills I have (not prescribed them myself) I would have sworn blind they had been some sort of tryptamine based psychadelic compound.

Anybody else get hallucinations on opiates before?

Yes, CEVs and even OEVs are possible on opiates. Whenever I tend to close my eyes I always end up in a dream-like state, and for some reason I'm always holding something. Then I come to and I'm in a completely different place; where I was when I took the drugs, and I'm not holding a phone/pen/carrot at all!

I have never experienced audio hallucinations though, just visuals. The occasional rippling wooden tile pattern, or strong dream-like experiences when nodding.

Limpet Chicken, I'm interested in these 30mg DHC pills. I've had 30mg codeine pills before that were pure, very tiny pink pills, and they affected me far more strongly than any CWE or equivalent amount of codeine/apap pills.

Also, have you ever tried Gees Linctus? It's a "traditional remedy" for chest cough, and contains 0.084ml of opium tincture per 5ml, comes in a 200ml bottle and costs £1.69 from your local [insert name of huge UK pharmacy chain that you could wear on your feet]. It's a brilliant compliment to DHC as I find it increases the euphoria exponentially. It also contains around 19%-22% alcohol too, depending on the brand, which adds to the effect.

I ended up nodding today in one of my favourite pubs with an empty pint glass in my hand, and only came out of my wonderful dream when a barmaid came over to tell me to wake up. I then went into the library to nod again.

Decent trip report. I always enjoy opioid trip reports because they're my favourite class of drugs. Take care. %)

Kerrigan, no I haven't tried Gee's linctus...yet...thanks for mentioning, although I imagine an extraction would be in order.

These pills I have, I will describe them, but I can't tell the origin, as I found them in a bag on the street, 32 of them=D

They are pure white, perhaps just under one centimeter in diameter, there were two types in the bag, one was the roche brand, letter R on one side, on the other, on one half, it had "DH" under that, a score, then "30"

The ones I have left are a manufacturer I cannot identify, not for lack of trying though.

White, same size as the roche ones, a beveled edge round them, one side bears the pressed letters "dhc", a shallow score, then "30".

On the other side, they bear the letter M, a styalised mortar and pestle with an "&" character pressed into it, then the letter A so it looks like (M&A).

I posted about these in pillreports, but haven't got a reply yet (mods, I am not asking for a pill ID here, merely describing the pill to give Kerrigan an idea of what they look like) so I am not sure if they contain APAP, I don't think so due to the size though, I am fairly confidant they won't have it in.

I feel like such a shit, for taking 12 of them, trying to get a dose equivalent to 15mg hydrocodone the first time I did them, when I found out tonight, that two and a half pills will get me pleasantly nodding:(

Also, I get a nod from just 75mg, or perhaps even on 60mg, is that normal for DHC, or am I just incredibly sensitive to opiates in general, I read reports of people taking upwards of 250mg sometimes, when I took 180mg, it pretty much made me into a drooling, tripping wreck8o

Less is (sometimes) more, and it's not uncommon to find lower doses very satisfying. Taking too much with too little experience will usually result in vomiting and all of that, but I find a small amount can be great, even with tolerance.

Sometimes you want to be completely engulfed in a euphoric opiate daze, and sometimes you want to be able to act normal.

In my experience, low doses can cause me to nod, but only if I'm sitting down comfortably or not moving. If I have to get up and do something then I can easily do it. Sometimes I just don't want to be trying to force my eyes open while I'm walking around.

You don't seem to be particularly sensitive to opiates, although you did experience hallucinations, they are common. I'd say that you're just fine. :)

As far as an extraction, I would love to hear about it if you ever consider it. The syrup really burns as it goes down, obviously due to the alcohol, but there are other ingredients in there that I really wouldn't want to be putting into my body constantly, such as camphor (only one that springs to mind at the moment).

Anyway, if you do consider it I'd suggest drinking half of a bottle at first and then consuming 60-90mg DHC when you start to feel the opium's effects. You may need a whole bottle, I can't really tell as everyone is different, but I started with a whole bottle and ended up very intoxicated, then again I do take benzodiazepines, so... YMMV!

DHC has not done this to me. DHC works best in the 30-60mg range. It is one of those limiting abuse potential drugs with a 'ceiling'. What this means is that a higher dose wont necessarily equate to more euphoria. I mean each individual pill I swallow does do something but I also end up feeling geeked-out in the aftermath if I swallow too much.

Hallucinations on opiates/opioids are possible although they bear more resemblence to those arising from MDX style intoxications than acid. I have never tried ketamine or angel dust so I cannot comment on this. However, opiate induced shifts in one surroundings tended to occur for me with some of the more powerful opiates.

DHC is quite a good life-style drug. For instance it enabled me to take the time to do some hovering and mop the kitchen floor. It put my head in the clouds and took me out of the everyday feeling of down that is an ordinary part of reality.

Hmm, I have never taken ketamine or PCP either, but I did notice some similarity, just a little, between the DHC hallucinations, and some effects of the diethyl ether high, which is also dissociative.

I definately wouldn't use DHC myself as a "lifestyle" drug, or even any more often than the odd random time every so often, i wouldn't use any drug on a regular or frequent basis at all myself, excepting only pot and tobacco, but certainly not an opiate, due to their capacity to produce dependence.

Yeah I wouldn't want to be using it any more than ocassionally. It was not that addictive either in the sense that not having any did not cause noticeable withdrawl for me.

Sounds like you achieved your first "nod" state, just don't use too many opiates and you'll probably be able to get in those relaxing half-dreams every time.
