Swim is looking to get his first scale, and he's trying to find out what everyone recommends?
The current frontrunners are the "new" Nexgen PTP200 and the Gram Precision PT150
Thanks,
gerald

hey, I don't need sources, I just was wondering if people had personal preferences or not...the nexgen ptp200 looks really nice, but i can't tell if it's of any quality...Has anyone even seen it?
Thanks,
gerald

^ It's a way of saying im going to do this, or i want this, etc. without actually implying that you are doing it.

Look for a scale that measures in .01 instead of half grams.
Any will probably suffice.
After all, how precise does it have to be?

depends on what you are weighing. +/- 10mg is fine for most things, but not certain research chemicals like 5-meo-amt where plus or minus 1 or 2 mg can make a HUGE difference.

I still like using my "analog" Ohaus triple beam I lifted from high school....

Its not illegal to posses but sources are not allowed to be revealed.. just like we can't tell anyone where to purchase N2O...

I have noticed some diagem (sp?) digital scales measuring to .002 grams (2 milligrams) on ebay, measure up to 5 grams max. Good and cheap IMO if you are looking at measuring small doses. ($120 or so compared to $400+ for scales measureing down to 1 mg).

The My Weigh Mx-50 is a nice scale, accurate to .01 with a maximum capacity of 50g. The tray is about 2"x3".
What you really need to consider is what you're weighing and the volume of that substance. One could put about a half-ounce of weed on the mx50, but I would consider it overkill if that's the only thing you are weighing. However, I assume since you're posting on OD, you're weighing out something better. :)
For research chems, it can't be exact without a miligram scale, but put down 4x the dose your looking for, and divide it by 4. This is a must for a drug where 15mg and 25mg are very different doses. (5-meo-dipt, others...)

I don't think the no-sources rule applies here. Posting a link to a company that makes balances is about as naughty as posting a link to a cutlery manufacturer. The fact that you can cook up drugs in a spoon doesn't avoid the basic inherent legality of the company and their products.

I'm not very experinced with RC's but I'm pretty positive that measuring out 4 times the intended dose and then dividing it isn't a very effective and possibly dangerous way of measuring out your product.
