Which is more powerful and is it merely a matter of degree or are the effects totally different? As I understand it, digestion does not enter the bloodstream as quickly as smoking it. So which is truly better for someone who wants to experience the effects of the high?

Could be how much you consume, but i think that THC has a higher bioavailability when digested as opposed to smoked. I have also heard that digested THC is a more intense high.

^^opposite...CBD has a higher BA when eaten, resulting in a 'stonier' high, less mental and more physical. also lasts significantly longer

It depends upon what you want.

Lots of people find the high from eating it to be too much and IME it's not fun when you do eat too much. When I ate too much it was psychedelic but I also had forgotten that I'd taken anything and when I couldn't move and felt physically sick it was not fun. It also was not fun when I passed out/blacked out from being that stoned. I made the mistake of thinking that because I had schwag and since I'd been smoking for the past few days before, I'd have to eat 3g of it.

If you really want lots of THC you should just get a vaporizer and use that. You don't have to get a volcano and the high is like eating it but without all of the side effects.

I'd like to try eating herb again but I will eat a lot less and I'll use a very very small amount of it.

Smoking herb is fun too but I've done enough of that and I got a vaporizer since I had been smoking herb on/off for about a decade or so.

I find the high from eating it lasts longer and is more of a body high or physical high like rincewindrocks stated.

burning weed is less efficient and you lose thc, by extracting the thc into butter/oil or whatever and eating it is supposed to be stronger if you ingest the same amount of weed (ie 1 gram smoked and 1 gram was extracted into a bit of butter and put on toast and eaten [assuming it is all eaten at once and metabolism is not taken into account] then the weed buttered toast should get you more high)
This would be why a vaporizer requires so little bud to get you high.
This is my understanding at least, feel free to correct me with legit info

Smoking usually hits you right away, and you can just smoke more 10 minutes later if your not high enough. Smoking produces a stronger head high.

Eatting takes 30-45 minutes to feel it, it can take up to 2.5 hours to peak. If you consumed weed its best to wait 3 hours before dosing more. I heard your liver does something to THC that changes the psychoactive effects, but I could be wrong. Eatting produces a more stoned high, although in higher doses it can be quite psychedelic.

Not trying to be rude, but for reference could you please source it. I may be wrong, you may be right. Just curious as to where to find this information.Thanks.

Depends on the type of high you are looking for. There are other factors you need to take into account for edibles.

Are the edibles made out of an indica strain producing a more stoney feeling or out of a sativa strain producing a more psychedelic high?

Either way if you smoke it or eat it you will get high, its just how high you want to get. Edibles will have you floored

I vape and use the left overs to cook with--good deal if you ask me. I like both, just depends on the situation/event. Agree with other-- edibles are generally stonier/body and last longer than smoking.

All i know is eating it makes it stronger as the liver turns the THC into a stronger drug.I wouldn't fancy it as i'd end up freaking out, but i got seroquel and benzo's there if anything went wrong never say never eh?

"When you ingest cannabis, it goes into your intestines, then passes through your liver. Your liver processes THC into a by product called 11-hydroxy-THC, which then travels to the bloodstream and then to your brain. 11-hydroxy THC is thought to be four to five times more potent than regular THC."

do edibles work best on an empty stomach? that's what i've always been told, but i had an interesting experience the other day where i ate 1/4 of a brownie and it only got me a little buzzed after 2 hours, so i ate the other 3/4s and then ate dinner. both times were on an empty stomach, but after i ate dinner it was like everything kicked in at once and i was incredibly stoned. can anyone explain this?

^ I've had a similar experience, once ate some brownies, waited 1 hour, nothing. Wait another hour, nothing. Had a few more and BAM on 3hours after first ingestion I am "higher" than I've ever been before and ever been since haha

best bet is always smoking. cooking depends on the recipe and stuff and can not totally work. plus you can get high off of smoking like .2 of danks with low tolerance.... idk about that working orally
