hey ppl,

couldnt seem to find anything on this subject.

just wondering the easiest way to figure this out without a test kit.

would the easiest probablly be the smell of mephedrone which ive read smells like cats urine??

and the distinct smell of mdma?

thoughts?

*sorry for mephedrone spelling error.

Yeah mephedrone normally smells real bad but i've heard of some people gettin non smelly legit stuff..

Other than that the only way to really tell is test kit or taste it.. (by taste it i mean take it and see by the affects)..

Mephedrone has a distinct smell to it, like a sweet and sour sugar candy, sort of like cotton candy with a chemical twist. I would never in a million years say that mephedrone smells like urine! But to be sure you should always test as some mephedrone doesn't have a strong smell.

MDMA smells like sassafras/root beer (this is typical of brown "molly", which often isn't carefully cleaned), or has no aroma at all.

Meph and other cathinones usually (though not always) contain impurities with a distinct smell. It's hard for me to put my finger on what it smells like, and there may be more than one common impurity. There's one that's... reminiscent of cat urine (not person urine) or fish - not like putrified fish or anything, just fish... this'd probably be the methylamine, or a cherry/candy/almond-like smell (from unreacted precursors or degradation products).

All we can do here is speculate and guess that our experience is universal when giving advice like this... trying to guess a substance based on smell is going to be wildly difficult at best and extremely dangerous at worst.

Please don't try to differentiate chemicals via smell.

Really, absent reagent or lab testing, you're not going to be able to with anything resembling precision.

PM me if you have any questions.
