Different types of Ketamine

Hello, my FOAF has found a reliable source of ketamine, and he has been enjoying that benefit for some time now. Although what he did notice was that different batches varied in quality and effect. Some batches were very easy to K hole off of and had positive after glow effects; and other batches were impossible to k hole with and caused hangovers and low mood the day after. Does anyone else experience this variation in effects but pay the same price per gram?
 
Some batches were most likely cut. It is pretty pointless in my opinion to speculate about this, because there are not really types of ketamine that would cause a low-mood hangover. However there are different isomers, one of the two is quite rare. You can encounter R-ketamine, S-ketamine or most commonly an equal mix of the two.

Still, don't read too much into this, from my experience it is still most likely some of your batches were cut or laced, and that set and setting contribute greatly to this as well.
For example the effects may not always be as strong because of the situation or because the product is cut. This would result in taking more of the ketamine to still try and get effect, the cut may me a medicine that works on the liver and it could make a person feel kind of gross if they take a lot. Again: this is more likely than getting different isomers, because the pure isomers can be sold for more money and they will usually let customers know about it.
 
The best explanation would likely be inactive adulterants or cutting with active research chemicals (MXE, 3-MeO-PCP etc.). Even if you had 100% ketamine it could be racemic or s-isomer which would have noticeably different effects while still being 'pure'.
 
The ability to k hole depends on your tolerance, set, and setting.
If you're in a dark room with the lights off while you sniff your k your k hole will come easier because of sensory deprivation.
I have noticed this as well though, some batches seem to be profoundly psychedelic while others seem to simply sedate you with no memory of your trip or anything.
 
Looks like AFOAF will have to get used to ketamine being cut even though the adulterants totally diminish the value of the substance. His most recent experience involved him snorting a good amount of it only to feel mild effects and moderate to severe nasal discomfort. Taking more didnt make the trip any deeper, just made him feel more drained after the effects wore off. Around here a gram goes for <snip> american dollars so naturally he would want the most bang for his buck.
