differences with combining benzos and opiates

so the other day i got a half gram of tar with my buddy and smoked it. nothing unusual here. usually get a nice high and a good nod. but that day my friend had filled his prescription to lorazepam. i know a low dose of benzo's with opiates is supposed to be a nice high, so i tried it. im a big guy, 200lbs, and i took 1mg of lorazepam and 10mg of diazepam shortly after smoking the tar. it turned out to be horrible. i had an anxiety attack, and felt like i was going to die. all the heroin seemed to do was amplify the negative benzo effects. i really thought i was going to pass out. 4 hours later i was okay, but it ruined the high completely. has anyone else had troubles like this???

Do you think the panic attack was triggered by the fear of ODing?
To be honest I think you took too much Benzos. You should have stuck with either 5mg of Diaz or 0.5mg of Loraz.

I've never had this happen to me by the way. Even though I suffer from Anxiety and have taken a Opiate and Benzo combo that was close to putting me out permanently I just lay down and enjoyed the experience of complete satisfaction, calm and relaxation.

I have never had this happen to me (mixing demerol or percs and valium). Usually I just get really tired. That said, apparently for some people benzo's have the opposite effect. Have you ever tried just taking benzo's on their own? It could be you just don't react well with benzo's.

For me it's weed. Most people get mellowed by it but it freaks me the hell out. Major panic attacks and it's all I can do to hold myself together until it's over.

^ Dito mate. That's the reason I stopped smoking weed. I had a huge panic attack and from then on I've only been able to smoke a very tiny amount either on my own or with my best friend only, I cannot be in a public area in a large group of people. I just get far too paranoid.

And yes, some people have paradoxical reactions to Benzos and other Hypnotics / Sedatives.

That was a heck of a lot of benzo's

Could be a few things, Panic attack due to the worry of OD

Benzo's and Opiates can depress breathing that could have given you that feeling

Or you might just have a bad reation to the Benzo's itself (have you ever taken them alone) ?

Hi fellow Pac NWesterner.

Benzos + opiates is notoriously dangerous; with that high a dose no wonder you had a panic attack. Sounds like the nod was just too much to enjoy. My husband suffers from seizures that first appeared after eating marijuana cookies and now any time either of us get the kicks while high we start to get a bit panicky.

It's safer to get mega fucked on one or the other-- I'd just stay away from mixing the two.

Me too these days, specially skunk. Used to be able to smoke shitloads without the negative effects, but not anymore. I have to be under the influence of something else first to enjoy a toke nowadays.

I find some of the new legal smoking mixtures to be great though, just like cannabis but without the paranoia. The 'Spice' range is good, but my personal fav is a mix called 'Bombay Blue', very opiate-like...

I've OD'd on benzos booze promethaszine and opiates... and was real nautious, fucking threw up like 5 times the next morning and had to go to the hospital

i dunno what happened, all i can recomend is that you take a lower dose of each product, cause combining two CNS depressants can be very dangerous....

maybe it was just the food you ate before...
