When I was like 17, I'd tried Whip-its, and I'd heard about something new called "Dust-off". I heard it was just like Whip-its. Apparently Whip-its are also inhalants(duh.....you do inhale them after all), but I thought they were safe, so I though Dust off would be safe too....
So I went to a camera store to buy some Dust off, as it is a camera lens cleaner, and I waited til I was done school and work for the day. Then, I stopped by the lot where my father was having our new house built, and I parked and tried out the Dust off. It tasted nasty, and after a few huffs, I kinda went into a trance. I was having really weird trippy dreams for a while.
I then started hearing this strobe like "Wah-wah-wah-wah" sound as I came back into consciousness. Then I went back to feeling normal. It really fucked me up for a few minutes.
I tried it once more on another night, then tossed out the bottle. It left a terrible taste in my mouth, and I discovered that it was really bad for you as well. The high wasnt really worth it either. Like most inhalants, it probably could kill you and it no doubt kills lots of brain cells.
I also tried sniffing lacquer thinner in silk screen printing shop in 9th grade, but I only did it once, because a few other kids did it before me. I was a different buzz from Dust off, but it wasnt very enjoyable either, so I never did it again. The teacher of that shop basically caught me doing it too, but I wasnt too out of it, so I talked my way out of trouble!
later that same year, I caught my little brother huffing gasoline from the tank on his 3 wheeler. He said he did it a lot! I never tried it, but he said it left a gasoline taste in his mouth for an hour or so! I told him to stop that crap.
Neither of us seemed to be effected by our short term usage of inhalants, but I have been affected by my 22 years of drug use. I quit in 2002.
Anyone else got the guts to admit their usage of inhalants, or do you know anyone that tried them? Anyone have any bad effects from it?
