Did The Federal Government Just Admit That Marijuana Can Shrink Serious Brain Tumors?

The National Institute on Drug Abuse, a research institution run by the federal government, has grudgingly admitted that marijuana is capable of killing certain cancer cells.

A publication from NIDA, revised as of April 2015, states that “recent animal studies have shown that marijuana can kill certain cancer cells and reduce the size of others. Evidence from one animal study suggests that extracts from whole-plant marijuana can shrink one of the most serious types of brain tumors. Research in mice showed that these extracts, when used with radiation, increased the cancer-killing effects of the radiation.”

In effect, this constitutes an admission from the federal government that marijuana has medicinal value. This admission comes at a time when steam is building in the Senate for the Compassionate Access, Research Expansion and Respect States Act. Democratic Sen. Cory Booker from New Jersey introduced the bill in early March. It quickly picked up support from GOP Sens. Rand Paul and Dean Heller, as well as Democratic Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand and Barbara Boxer.

It's so fucking sad, my ex almost died from a brain tumor partially because she received shitty treatment. They even wanted her to do an experimental surgery (Super Expensive Too) that had a 10% chance success rate. Oh yeah only 40% of that success rate would keep her from not being a vegetable. So that means if they were "successful" she'd have a 60% chance of being a vegetable.... at least she would be alive right? Fuck that shit!!! Thank god I convinced her not to consider the surgery because they performed it on young guy in Chicago and her died on the table, soooooo fucking sad. She never had seizures when she smoked weed, but because of the stigma associated with that she would rather have the seizures when at home living with her parents. I mean seizures are dangerous and she could've died back then. Eventually after multiple years of that shit she got on an experimental treatment that was just a shot in her foot every night, and the seizures stopped she graduated college and now is a teacher in Hartford, CT. The anti-weed stuff is bullshit when all these people have tumors that could definitely benefit from them. Fuck all that shit, makes me sooooooo sad!
