I just IV'd adderall XR after heating repeated filtering yadayadayada and got my usual clear solution and went for the push. This time however the vein I used from forearm up turned bright red and now I'm seriously concerned about whether it's collapsed, damaged or anything else I should really be concerned about. The redness at first was alarmingly red but is starting to fade. From forearm out to hand is perfectly fine... in fact now the redness has almost completely faded. I think all will be well, but any input would be appreciated. Also, learn from my mistakes; IV pills are nothing to fuck with. The IV route is THE RISKIEST route! But by god if you're going to do it read all you can, be sterile as you can, filter all you can, use a new >25g needle every single time. Arm yourself with wound dressing (to press on the injection site to promote clotting and reduce hematoma/bruising), anti-bacterial cream (duh), hydrocortisone cream (for reduction of initial histamine reaction/redness), Arnica cream (less known about, used to reduce swelling, pain and skin discoloration from injury) and anti-biotics (just in case) and still be prepared to have unintended consequences! My veins are looking okay now... still worried... maybe as a rule of thumb when considering injecting pills, if it takes more than one filter to remove all the binders don't do it.
or...
DON'T IV PILLS!
or anything really... there's a reason people have to go to college to learn how to do this and even they still mess up from time to time.
Why do we even choose to IV drugs anyway?
