Opioids Did i overdose on pod tea?

I take the same dose everyday, maybe a little more sometimes. On this day i took biscodyl which i have done before many times, i took this the normal time which was like 8 hours before but i still didnt go toilet(i plug the tea). Sometimes it doesnt work in time, not a big deal...anyways i took my dose and i mixed in like 120mg codiene oral and i felt a little sick, quite a bit opiated but a little uncomfortable, maybe slightly disphoric but not much.

I never get sick during opiates, ever but i have never felt the possible over opiated feeling i felt there, when i dose everyday i am almost everyday underwhelmed from the tea. usually i take more codeine, can this affect the effect of the tea? So my question is a) did i get more than what i bargained for meaning somehow more morphine was absorbed or was it something else Could the biscodyl, even though i took it the usual time, have somehow on this day changed things. As i say i did not go toilet so its not like there was more surface area for the opiate to get absorbed.

The feeling when i dosed was constant warming legs which i never get during pod tea, very relaxed and zonged again, not usual and no warm rush.I have huge tolerance by the way.

PS is there anyway to tell by looking at pods if they are potent, e.g. if they are yellow inside to if they are white, smell etc

no way to tell pod potency except for trying them(or a complicated medical extraction of the opiate alkaloids)

you probably just took too many opiates and got too high, simple as that.

of course there could possibly have been some other physiological or psychological factor that caused an increase in the "high" but theres no way for us(or you probably) to figure out what it was if that actually was it.

if you are worried about overdose....go to the hospital.

If you have to ask if you overdosed, you most likely didn't. Also, if you were conscious the whole time, it's not an overdose. As JamesBrown said, you just got too high. Next time take it easy. You can always take more, but you can't take it back.

Pods are notoriously inconsistent in terms of how much active constituants are in them.

As a side note, while tea seems most likely for your stomach pain, bisacodyl can give horrible stomach aches as well. I once threw up some crazy, chemical-smelling froth from a particularly bad bisacodyl poisoning (yes, it was that bad that I consider it to be a poisoning)...

If you make tea with the same weight of pod material and volume of water, the darkness of the resulting fluid is usually a good indicator of potency, the darker the liquid the more morphine present.

It's not really clear what danger you think you were in. I would only be worried if significant breathing depression occurred along with difficulty remaining conscious; now that's a recipe for brain damage or death. I have only over-dosed once as described above, and that was with oxycodone. I had to 'force' myself tg breathe, and even then, it was very difficult + difficulty staying conscious. I should have gone the ER, and I recommend anyone in this condition do so, but I was stupid and did not go, thus risking my life.

Codeine, due to some of its properties, makes me more prone to headaches, nausea and dysphoria. I used to have a daily pod tea habit, and I really overdosed... ambulances, narcan, the whole shabang. One would need to separate clearly having taken too much versus dosing and dying. The first is the literal meaning of over-dose; the second is the term we most commonly use to describe having done a drug to such an extent that our body ceases to be able to continue keepin' on.

As others have said, you probably did dose too much (on two opiate preparations each individually notorious for causing nausea) rather than "overdosed" as some of us would use the phrase.

Be safe in the future, dont become so eager to achieve that sly euphoria opiates provide us with... Over-eagerness suppresses our ability to rationally appraise the safety of a situation.

This is true and a good bit of advice Arobskittle, but I think it ought to be amended to include the fact that this isn't always the case. The tea I OD'd on was quite bright, actually, and was made from 3 randomly selected jumbo pods from a batch whose contents usually required 5-6 to achieve a nod. All I wanted was to 'take the edge off' of the day (as I was in college at the time) and I ended up waking up to a crowd of vultures gawking at me as I was hoisted into an ambulance, sped to the hospital, and catheterized :(

One can ALWAYS take more. Never have I seen someone extract a portion of their dose from their body once they realized they'd taken too much.

Sorry to preach, I've just administered enough impromptu narcan shots to people who wanted to reach their peak so badly that they missed the mark.

Well how you make the tea can greatly affect the color too.

I usually let my tea sit for 3-4 hours untill it gets nice and dark brown, but after that I take the whole shebang with the grounds still in it, and throw the entire mix into a blender. I turn it on high for about 1 minute and it changes the color from dark clear brown to a milky white yellow. And it also changes the taste/consistency too, it becomes quite creamy (prob from all the suspended fine grounds) but it actually tastes a bit like milk and looks like milk too.

I've noticed this is by far the strongest way to make my pods. You let it sit for a few hours and then agitate the shit out of it in a blender, it gets every single bit of opium out of the pods and increases the strength a great deal. But don't expect to do second washes with it because its usually a waste. I don't like second washes anyway which is the whole point I do it this way.
And I'm not sure if the color changes or if its just the fact that it becomes a suspension and reflects light, but it goes from dark brown to a very light yellow milky color... and taste much better too imo for w/e reason.

It really depends on how you're defining your terms. 'Overdose' is often used to connote requiring medical attention and/or being potentially dangerous/fatal... but overdose can also refer to any unpleasant, undesired effects from taking more than intended or directed.

Exactly the point I was attempting to make - well worded, Cane.

I think the schism in thinking here lies purely in semantics.
