Hello all,
I'm just looking for some experience/guidance. I used the IV'ed Cocaine guide guide on BL. I had a fairly sterile enviroment and I believe I used correct procedure minus the actual injection. I filled 10 units of a 1cc 30 gauge 1/2inch needle through a cotton ball filter with a bumps worth of semi-average quality cocaine and made sure there was no air present(I have done a acetone wash and I'd say this stuff was most likely 50%-60%.) This being my first IV injection I was very precautious(sp?). I've done 5-7 IM Ketamine injections successfully. I tied off my right arm with a belt and saw the vein in the crook of my elbow rise and uncapped my syringe. I leveled the needle at about a 30 degree angle and pierced the skin. As I entered I saw blood enter the syringe, I pulled back a bit and saw more blood enter the syringe. I proceeded to push the plunger down, remove the belt and then the needle. After I removed the needle some blood came out and I disposed of the needle. Upon disposing the needle I looked at the inside of my elbow and noticed that my skin was sort of welling up. I'm not too concerned since it was a really small amount but did I miss? My skin was rising in a sort of bubble/semi-circle. It began to dissapate as I applied a small amount of pressure. As I'm writing this, I definitely feel subtley different. As I said, it was a small amount and this is my first IV injection so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. As for the actual injection site ithas a bit of a rise but I think that's normal. Thanks all.
PS. Please don't write about the stupidity of shooting cocaine. I realize the risks and am trying to make sure I do this correctly. I only plan on doing it once(I'm sure all of us have heard this multiple times) just to know what it's like. Thanks again.
