Did 'hard' drugs ruin comparatively weaker drugs for you?

If anything hard drugs and the addiction I developed helped me appreciate the milder ones. For instance the mild relaxation from kratom feels like I'm getting away with murder after beating a serious opiate addiction.

each drug has a high and a low that comes after. sometimes certain drugs have a better reward ratio of pleasure to pain, like weed. often the strongest drugs have the longest/biggest lows following the high. the only exception i can think of would be high dose lsd/dmt/mush etc.

for me experiencing the extremes of the hard drugs allowed me to better appreciate the more acceptable give and take of the softer ones. this does all depend on what you consider hard and soft though, as that's up to the individual.
