Benzos Diazepam -- No Longer Affects Me

I've been on diazepam for roughly 2.5 years. When I first took it, 15mg gave me a disinhibited buzz, much like alcohol without the vertigo. Now, nearly three years later, it doesn't do shit. I just took 150 mg and it has barely phased me. This can't be normal. Also, I can take 10 days of the benzo and NOT get withdrawal symptoms. What gives?
 
Ten days, even with something like xanax, I'd be doubtful of withdrawals that measure up to any significance. Does not it mean it can't happen, but, the seizure risk as with lengthy use, probably doesn't come about till a more established habit.

The thing with benzos like this, the ones with the longer half lifes, are kinda more mellow in effect. With that being said, I know people often underestimate that aspect, end up taking more, or just denying the significance of it, then find themselves blacked out, not remembering the day.

Also if the pills are bunk, you're sure they're the MG you think they are and you're positive you're doing the math right?

I know with valium, even with the 10mg pills, more so a pain in the ass with the smaller ones, you have to count out so many, it becomes a fucking hassle and may just want to check twice.


Also, how long were you on it before and at what does? How long did you stop, a total of three years all together?
 
if u have taken valium for 2 and a half years and built up a tolerance to where 150 mgs doesnt affect you at all, yet you dont get withdrawals when coming off, you are an alien being..something doesnt add up here tbh..

with klonopin, another long acting benzo, the effects are so subtle that 1 mg doesnt seem that much different than taking 3 mgs but there is a big difference, its just hard to notice..

Some people have a naturally high resistance to benzo dependence, I've got a mate he can take 10-20mg of xanax a day, for periods of months to years even and come off cold-turkey without any severe symptoms (not without any symptoms, mind).
 
if you've been using diazepam constantly (esp. daily or multiple times a day) then it's totally normal to not feel 30x a "normal" dose... welcome to benzo tolerance.

if you don't get strong w/d count yourself lucky i guess. there are people who just generally tolerate w/d a lot better than others and if you are situationally well off (low stress levels etc) you will have a much better time than being in a rut and dealing with benzos being withdrawn on top of that. either that or you are self medicating with something else (benzos, barbs, certain other downers, alcohol) that is just cross tolerant.

diazepam is somewhat nicer to w/d from than other benzos cause it has a long half life in body tissues and doesnt produce rapid changes in blood concentration as much as e.g. midazolam or alprazolam do.
