Some background: I'm a moderately heavy Oxy user. 200-300mg daily for the past month, overall Oxy usage for about three years now. As such, I really don't experiment much with benzos although I have access to many of them. I just feel like it's not worth the risk, especially if I end up liking them too much.
Anyway, I've taken Clonozepam, Etizolam, and Triazolam in the past. Haven't had any other benzo, and generally found the ones I've tried great for therapeutic uses, not so much for recreational uses.
As a precursor, I'm about to enter another Oxy kick and this time I don't want to go without benzos as the withdrawal gives me unrelenting insomnia and I have a wife and demanding job that requires mental acuity. So being without sleep is a big concern for me.
I'm starting this kick tomorrow, and I wanted to get a feel for the substance before I jump into needing it, not just taking it. So I dosed my final Oxy dosage of 90mg about 6 hours ago, waited for the effects to wear off, and popped about 15mg of Valium about an hour ago.
One hour in - Pleasantly surprised! What a substance this is; I never expect any kind of mood lift or anything even approaching euphoria from my benzos, and I can honestly report diazepam has me in a wonderful, calm, floaty mood. The best I've gotten in the past from Clonozepam was a sensation of relaxation, but with nowhere near as much of a mood lift. I feel a state of transcendent relaxation and calmness with a distinctive note of happiness, and I feel like I'm just melting into my pillow as I watch tv next to my wife. It's really wonderful. It also leaves me hopeful that come tomorrow when I need this substance for the coming perils of Oxy withdrawal, I might just find enough relief to make it through without a heavy dose of misery as I also feel Diazepam's muscle relaxant properties much stronger than that of the other benzos I've tried. Just to be clear, I'm also tackling the WD with UEI Kratom and Bali Kratom, some tramadol, and of course the Valium. So I think I can make it through without too much discomfort.
Hands down my favorite benzo, both therapeutically and recreationally. I now understand why Diazepam is very highly rated amongst members here. Wonderful stuff.
