Hello,

So I wondered if there was a way to separate the two compounds esp. because di(beta-phenylisopropyl)amine causes a decrease in BP and other negative side effects. I guess the usual Acetone/IPA wash wont do here? As I am no trained chemist but see this as an important harm reduction I would like to discuss possible methods of cleaning contaminated product.

If it's not contaminated with very large amounts, you could always try a recrystallization. That is, dissolve it in the minimal amount of boiling solvent, and then let it slowly cool down to room temperature. The amphetamine will precipitate in a purer form which you filter out from the remaining solvent. You will however always lose some product in the process. And choosing the right solvent is somewhat of a trial and error, perhaps methanol would work.

If the amphetamine is made via the nitroethane route, then it's not an issue.
