DHC - Trying to taper off, but this leads to return of pre-cycle symptoms

Hi all.

I am trying to cut down on my DHC usage, the doctors have not recommended it, but I want to stop for myself. It has been 6 months of every single day usage, and I am sick of tolerance building up, and can foresee things getting worse down the line.

I have reduced intake from 120mg daily to 30mg daily, however, this obviously means the symptoms I had before I started taking them return.

I have got appointments coming up to try and treat the underlying cause, but this may take some time.

I guess I am after some advice from people who have experience with DHC.

The thing they were prescribed for is a stomach condition that is currently undergoing diagnosis. DHC has served me well in stopping the sharp pain in my bowels/colon, but it also helped in binding me up so to speak, essentially putting an end to the constant diarrhoea which I experience every single day bar none when I don't take medication for it (and have done for over two years before I even knew what DHC was.)

Essentially, I want to stop DHC usage, but this makes the symptoms return, any suggestions?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey mate,I'm not an expert in the field of opiate w/dz, but I have took a little liking to DHC , codeine, Tramadol , for a while using it a bit recreational rather than what it's for, what I can say is valium and zolpidem work wonders.

Edit: If ur not a benzo addict and u can aqquire these just do it short term , benzo addiction is a whole nother story , u don't want to swap 1 for the other.
