I had always thought that drinking cough syrup was pointless, but one night while very bored, I looked up more information on the subject. In Delsym, there is Dextromethorphan. There were so many mixed opinions and experiences related to robotripping, and it made me really curious as to what it actually felt like.
I've never tripped before, or used any psychoactive drugs.
The dosage was based on weight and experience
An hour before 180 mgs Dextromethorphan was ingested, 0.5 mgs of alprazolam was taken for relaxation purposes.
The morning of this trip report, 200 mgs of bupropin was taken, and is daily.
10 p.m is when this starts
0:00- 180 mgs of dextromethorphan (Delsym) ingested. ( It was grape flavored, and wasn't hard at all to get down with a cup after water afterwards. )
0:30- Light nausea, which progressed as the night went on. Sipped more water and layed down in bed, very drowsy and lazy feeling. Nothing other than that, maybe a placebo affect of a little more happiness than usual.
1:30- Very tired, laying in bed with a fan on because it feels abnormally hot in the room. Music is playing and sounds the same as usual, but there looks to be a green small sphere above a lava lamp that's plugged into the wall. (The lava lamp is pink and purple so this was a hallucination of some kind I assume). The green sphere didn't move, but just stayed there and was translucent. Stomach feeling really nauseous and it's hard to fall asleep.
4:00- Been in and out of a very restless sleep, everything is extremely hot. The blankets felt like hot irons, but when taken off, there was an uncomfortable cold feel to the air. Still nauseous, although it seems very disconnected from the body. It's in the back of the mind, and a dull ache. Extremely tired, but kind of tense. Tried to get up to get more water but could barely take two steps. (Wobbling and no balance whatsoever, like being really drunk). A little giddy and some laughter while getting water, and barely made it back to the bed without falling.
6:00- No sleep, way too hot, uncomfortable, the green sphere is still there, and everything feels very distant. Thought pattern was skewed; couldn't keep one train of thought for long, but some repeated thoughts (cycles of one phrase over and over). Very drunk feeling, very uncomfortable.
9:00- No sleep at all, feel awful. Got out of bed because there were places that needed to be gone to. It's 7 am. The ground seems to shake a bit and balance is off quite a bit. Looked in a mirror because face felt really hot, and it was discovered that the pupils were extremely dilated; there was almost no color visible. There weren't any hallucinations at this point, but it was hard to believe with the pupils being the way they were. Got dressed slowly, and drank OJ.
10:00- Pupils now dilated as if in a very dimly lit area, but there was a lot of light in the house. Had to deal with parent, and it wasn't hard to interact. There was some anxiety in dealing with another sober person, especially a mom, but it was manageable.
All day had to work and run around, was very tired and disconnected. Headache until the afternoon, and having to work with a lot of people was not fun at all. People made comments like,"You look tired." and "You should really go home, you look sick." The hangover lessened throughout the day, and by the time bed time came around, it was easy to sleep.
In all, the experience wasn't fun, and there's no desire to repeat it in the future. Not terrible, just an uncomfortable 24 hours.
