Stimulants Dextroamphetamines + SSRI more dangerous than amphetamines + SSRI ?

Damn, I just realized that the only available amphetamine product where I live is NOT amphetamine but DEXTROamphetamine!

I googled dextroamphetamine and I think it was on wikipedia where there was a list of drugs where life threatening complications have occured and among these
drugs were Fluoxetin and other SSRI!

Damit! This means that basically I can forget about trying amphetamines cause even IF they somehow worked for ADHD then what about my depression?
Then I couldn't take ANY serotonergic drug and probably also no NDRI cause this would also be overkill. :(
 
DXM is a SNRI, no good with SSRIs.

However, amphetamine while on SSRIs is fine. I have no idea how you came to your conclusion right there.

So you mean all amphetamines no matter if dextroamphetamine or other amphetamines are ok with ssri?
But I'm still scared cause of all these warnings. I mean if it was so safe then why are there so many warnings saying that it can be lethal when combined with ssris?

DXM is the stuff in cough syrup, right?
 
I've known lots and lots of people who use SSRIs and Adderall, for instance. Since Adderall is dextroamphetamine+levoamphetamine I'd assume combining straight dextroamphetamine and an SSRI wouldn't result in instant death. I could maybe see seratonin syndrome happening, but even then... I'm certainly no doctor and have limited experience with dextroamphetamine and SSRIs, even less when it comes to combining them, but I used to take dextroamphetamine and amphetamine salts when I was taking Lexapro (an SSRI) without any problems whatsoever.
 
Did your doc warn you about serotonin syndrome back then?

The issue is that with my anxiety I don't know if I even dared to take such a combo. Then I'd be worrying all the time and checking myself for symptoms.
