Dexedrine tablets discontinued

Along with the dex I take two 70MG Vyvanse daily, one in the morning, the other around noon. It's a nice way to start the day, especially with a dexedrine chaser. After two years the Vyvanse euphoria is gone. I feel a healthy normal. These meds CURED my lifelong dysthymia and monthly major depressions. (Anti-depressants, all of them, did nothing.) Thanks to Vyvanse and dexedrine I can enjoy life . But don't worry, haven't regressed to become a blissed-out, non-stop-jabbering speed freak.

Keep in mind your doc is not supposed to prescribe dexedrine for depression. The only "legal" use for it is ADD or narcolepsy. I've discovered I have a bad case of ADD.

Actually the physisian's desk reference does mention using amphetamines for depression in combination with tricyclic anti-depressants, though I be careful mixing the two since some tricyclics(protriptyline and desipramine) increase brain concentrations of amphetamine, potentiating it. And ritalin was originally approved for mild depression in the elderly. Though I'd just stick to using it for ADD;).
 
There is a war on Speed nationally, and it's been going on for the last 15 years with great intensity. Speed is one of the better all around drugs in my opinion and if I ever hit the lottery and became rich enough to keep a good attorney on call, I'd damn sure have a good supply around.

Dexedrine disappearing, thus, to me at least isn't a big surprise. What is a big surprise, though, is it has taken this long for Dexy to get gone. I'm also surprised for any psych, even a bent one in CA, to be supplying it. I guess there must be so many doctors in CA you have a chance to get away with it for a while.

All this is going to do is stimulate the CA market even more for good quality speed.
