Okay, so I know that using amphetamines for weight loss isn't a perfect solution, but hear me out. I'm going away soon on a holiday to celebrate the end of an era really with friends who I've known for years as we are all going our seperate ways. I've been desperately trying to loose weight, I'm not too overweight but I'm not at the ideal weight for my height. I'm 5ft2 and weigh around 130 pounds, maybe just under. I have been combinding diet and exercise to shed some pounds but it's going slowly...I have access to a lot of dexedrine and Ritalin, it's of pharmaceutical quality. I've used dexe to get high quite a few times in the past, and it's always made my appetite disappear for several days afterwards... My plan is to take the amphetamine at a much smaller dose daily and eat healthy and exercise. However, I don't know which is better, if any, dexedrine or ritalin for this purpose. If anyones got any opinions I would be really greatful. I would prefer not to whittle away at my dexe but if it's going to get me a better result I will happily take it daily. Just to add, I don't have an addictive nature, and I am fully aware that I will have to work hard once I reach my ideal weight, and come off the drugs, to keep it!

Thank you!

Both are stimulants, both have a side effect of causing weight loss, it cannot be quantified as to which one does to a further degree.

From experience, I found I cannot eat at all while on methylphenidate(Ritalin) and I can eat slightly on dextroamphetamine(Dexedrine).

I also found from experience that these drugs cause me to eat more than when consuming marijuana when their effects disappear. So you might want to recalibrate your expectations since they are effective appetite suppressants but not so effective at reducing weight except for chronic users.

Well you're not overweight for your height and I strong don't recommend using amphetamines for weight loss as firstly once you lose the weight it will come rolling back on as fat and a lot more. Secondly it messes up your metabolism for a while after using it - refer back to point one. Thirdly, you need to make sure you get all the correct nutrients in you and remain adequately hydrated. Finally, it will fuck up your sleeping patterns which can lead to weight gain too, not to mention sleep deprivation and psychosis.

Now that I've got that out the way, I'd suggest dexedrine. It's smoother and it allows you to eat the bare minimum required to get by. I can't eat for shit on Ritalin - I'd physically gag when I saw food. You need to at least get some food down you while you're using them to lose the weight. Also make sure you get a multivitamin down you too. Dexedrine isn't as harsh on the come down either, so you won't resort to binge eating or impulsive redosing (I would binge eat when it wore off or take more, which led to mental issues if I redosed, or simply weight gain when I binged).

Dexedrine is also a more efficient fat burner as it increases your metabolic rate for a long period of time due to its long half life. It also acts on your body's thermoregulatory system in a more profound way, meaning you'll burn off fat faster than Ritalin. Ritalin is not a good aide in weight loss at all.

Take say 5-10mg of dexedrine in the morning when you wake up with a healthy meal, depending on when you wake up (if its in the morning say 8am-10am), then 4-5 hours later repeat. If you wake up later than that, I don't suggest dosing after maximum latest 5pm or you'll have issues sleeping. Not sleeping correctly is associated with weight gain.

Food for thought, literally haha. Hope this was helpful.

First of all, always consider the risk of takin stims to lose weight with the side effects it puts on your health.
Objectively, dexedrine would be way more effective as it increases norepinephrine levels more than ritalin does. even though norepinephrine is a substance derived from dopa synthesis Dopamine does not inhibit glugoneogenesis as norepineprhine/epinephrine does. Additionaly it is a more effective as it promotes glycogenolysis and lipolysis, and inhibits FFA syntheis thereby increasing serum glucose, insulin realease, glucose uptake and increases metabolism in the cells. However one must not forget to ingest proteins and make sure skeletal muscles are active if not the body will prefer muscle as source of ATP/energy more than fat, "of course fat will also be used" but less compared to if you exercise skeletal muscle.

In addition, dexedrine is generally more euphoric and has a longer half life.
Make sure you eat healthy, exercise and dont take too large doses. Lastly, fat cells never disappear so you will always have to be mentally prepared to make diet and exercise as your number 1 if you wanna lose weight. If not the fat cells will restore the carbohydrates at some point. Surgery might be a better option risk wise as long term high dose stims will ruin your cardiovascular system etc.

Sleep deprivation, psychosis lol. Shes not talking about high dose binging. I think it will work if you are 100% dedicated to your diet and exercise, like mentioned eat a decent amount of protein. I think dex would be better as long as dose is low enough that you can sleep at night. I know bodybuilders use clenbuterol for fat loss and it seems very effective but i assume it differs alot from dextroamphetamine. As long as your sleeping and not starving yourself, i think uts the way to go.

I don't really condone the use of amphetmines for weight loss at all. Considering all the problems they caused in the past with regards to psychosis horror stories and people becoming terrifically addicted to them - they really are only last resort for morbidly obese patients who are nearly unable to walk frankly. You're setting yourself up for one nasty, nasty ride.

This.
Also you'll just immediately put all the weight back on afterwards. Using drugs to lose weight should really only be a last resort. Do it the healthy way and you'll be so much happier with yourself and so much more likely to keep it off :)

At her height 50kg's would be ideal. Definitely not fat, but not skinny.

There's no such thing as an ideal weight when you don't know what her constitution/shape is like nor what she looks like at all :)
The ideal weight, OP, is where you feel comfortable with yourself, so long as you're also at a healthy weight of course.
Anyway, PLEASE don't use drugs for weight loss. I've been on a healthy weight loss program recently that I designed myself and that's been proving quite effective, and not difficult to follow at all. Feel free to PM me if you'd like details, I'd be happy to help.

As it's been fully covered that the use of these substances in relation to weight loss is in general not safe, and does not fit the harm reduction goals of this forum I'm going to go ahead and close this up.

To the OP perhaps take a look over in Healthy Living, and see what others have been doing to get in better shape, perhaps even start your own thread on your progress, but please don't justify drug use by considering yourself to be just slightly overweight.

I've seen close friends fall into the grips of these medications before for similar starting reasons, and end near the point of destruction. Tread with caution!
